Zero drives home an important point which we often tend to neglect in our pursue for being a perfect human being. While the film has its heart in the right place, even Shahrukh Khan’s cute dimples fail to pick up the faltering second-half when the writing goes haywire.

Along with the laughs and scares, Stree also delivers a strong message without spelling it aloud and that’s where the film stands out the most. In one of the scenes, while speaking his heart out to Shraddha, Rajkummar says, “Mor jab saawan ke mausam mein jhoom uthata hain, toh sab log usse dekhar mantra mugdha ho jaate hain, jaise hum aapko dekhkar mantramugdha.’ The actor’s charming act does exactly that to you.

Akshay Kumar’s Gold shines bright with the stellar performances and Reema Kagti’s engaging narrative. At a point in Gold, one of the characters tell the other, “Jis Tarha Khel Mein Ball Ko Pass Kiya Jata Hai, Kabhi Kabhi Zindagi Mein Apne Supno Ko Pass Karna Padta Hai”. Reema’s creative vision translates on the celluloid quite seamlessly with Akshay & Co’s honest acts.

…the film makes you realize that Sanjay Dutt’s life is made of flaws. But it’s Rajkumar Hirani’s skilful direction and Ranbir Kapoor’s fine performance which stitches it into a wholesome entertainer with good intentions. After all, there’s a crack in everything. Isn’t that how the light gets in?

Veere Di Wedding is easy on eyes. From the times where the heroine was always supposed to be Ms. Two Goody-Shoes who abstained from getting between the sheets before marriage to women now being shown inhibited when it comes to their life, sexuality, and desires, Bollywood has come a long way. Despite its set of flaws, a trip to this wedding will keep you entertained for most of the time.

Meghna Gulzar calls one of her best shots with Raazi and gives you an espionage thriller which keeps you engrossed right from the first frame. Alia Bhatt elevates the film to dizzy heights and gives you every reason to shower her with applauds. But most importantly Raazi reminds on that, ‘Under the clouds of war, it’s humanity hanging on a cross of iron’.
