The character is simply one step ahead of being a stereotypical mustache-twirling villain. Skarsgard, whose face is often in the shadows doesn’t have many lines in the film and his extreme gym bod does most of the acting. Robbie is severely miscast as Jane – she looks like a very modern woman placed in a period film.
It looks like Warner and Disney are making the same kind of blockbuster movies and the latter is consistently making the better ones. -
The film attempts to compensate for its clichéd elements by telling the audience that it is based on real life incidents, but this marketing gimmick has been stale for quite a while now.

Without the kinetic energy of Robert Downey Jr it’s definitely not an all time classic like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang but it’s still a crazy amount of fun. With such quality cinema out in theaters it’s silly to pass on an opportunity to get tickets. The only difficult thing here is the two year wait for Black’s next film, a sequel to the legendary Predator.

With the Transformers and now the Turtles movies it’s clear that Bay expect kids to be stupid and is okay with feeding them unhealthy entertainment in the name of fun. If you have kids and want to show them a genuinely great kids film that nourishes their IQ instead of depleting it, make them watch The Little Prince. Until then let’s just pray the filmmakers are not trying to do a Transformers-Turtles crossover film.

Ultimately this is a sequel that arrived five years too late, and brings nothing fascinating to audiences who have mostly forgotten the previous movie. This is a rare misstep from Disney whose other films lately have been of super high quality. And if the previous movie was at the advent of 3D, I wish this sequel signals the end of it.

In a world where movies based on games tend to suck, The Angry Birds Movie is a tiny little victory, and a nice diversion from Disney’s super large scale animation films. Now let’s hope this movie becomes successful and leads to a Candy Crush movie, or a Candy Crush Angry Birds shared universe.

The only takeaway is that the film could have benefitted with a co writer adding something special to Vardalos’ unspectacular script. In the fourteen years since the original movie a lot has changed in the world and cinema audiences, but Vardalos’ approach to comedy unfortunately hasn’t.

George Clooney, Julia Roberts are the best thing about this half-baked film…

After watching the hilariously subversive Deadpool, I was convinced that I could never again take a straightforward superhero movie seriously. Captain America Civil War undid my thought process just two months later. The biggest takeaway from this film was that Black Panther looks sleek as hell, and one just can’t wait for the next slew of Marvel superhero films like Doctor Strange.

The Mathematics portrayed in the film is fairly diluted so as to make the average audience member understand its concept and also grasp how complex it is and how Ramanujan was a genius to walk through it without batting an eyelid. It would have been more fun if the film’s presentation of the Maths was like the stock market detailing in The Big Short, but this will do for now.
