• It does have its own plusses, but that doesn’t take away the fact that Ki & Ka defeats its purpose. Talk about stereotyping and no one film has done it more methodically than this one. No, you won’t detest this film but it is saddening to see the effort go in vain.

With its stock issues and patchy solutions to them, the film lacks insight. No matter how watchable it is, the contrived narrative never allows it rise above average.

  • John’s hot bod and slick action can’t save the underwhelming actioner…

  • Watch it if you need some comedy on a weekend. When you are in some desperate need for laughs, unintentional humour can provide you bucketfuls of it…unadulterated. Get some beer and friends to go with it.

  • If someone from the film deserves to be applauded, besides Priyanka, it is Manav Kaul. He is fantastic and together, they manage to make the film watchable. But Jai Gangaajal doesn’t merit being applauded. It lacks holistic understanding and is something you would watch on TV on Republic Day.

  • As we sign off with this write-up, let’s warn the makers to keep up their guards. Osama’s spirit will come to haunt you for this. We wish it were ROFL but it was plain STFU, if you know what we mean.

  • Sanam Re is a lot more matured compared to the dismal Yaariyan. The putrid vein of thought is a lot in control. On the report card, Divya manages a better grade. At least, Sanam Re isn’t idiotic. It tries to make sense and the pairing has some freshness which doesn’t translate to fantastic.

  • Ghayal Once Again is a desperate cry from the 90s – a mediocre time we’ve thankfully come ahead of. Not a colossal disappointment but too dated to ring true and a damp squib that discredits the success it won in its prime.

  • Dilwale never lives up to the hype it had created around itself. For most part, it is an all-noise vanity project for stars who genuinely want to show us a good time but are held back by an impotent script helmed by a man whose competency lies is another genre.

  • If you do decide on watching it, do so for the dialogues. They are gems. The film evokes hate of another level. It is vile, disgusting and you’ll repeat what a character says – just get me get out of this goddamn place. It gives bad a new meaning.

  • In the end, the film throws up a bunch of interesting ideas which doesn’t come together coherently in the plot. The prime problem is that the film is too much soul and very less substance. It was promising but half-baked, with the thrills falling short in supply.
