• I’m going with a generous two out of five for ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’. Even A R Ramhan’s score offers only sporadic relief. The only real discovery you make through this film is Prateik Babbar’s immense likeability. Now if only the kid could act!

  • Setting up the sort of premise that’s usually treated with a much lighter hand in the popular television sitcom Office Office, the makers of ‘Gali Gali Chor Hai’ construct a well-intentioned but labored tale of the common man’s vulnerability against day-to-day corruption in society.

  • It is in the end, an old-fashioned revenge drama treated in that melodramatic, over-the-top style. You’re not likely to be bored by the intense action and the solid performances, but prepare to be exhausted by just how long this film plays on.

  • I’m going with a generous half out of five, yes half out of five for Ghost. There’s even a seductive song filmed on a wooden-faced junior artiste wearing enough eye make-up to scare you in your sleep. It’s a miracle films like this get made!

  • There’s an uncomfortable truth about Abbas-Mustan’s latest film ‘Players’ that few critics will admit to – it’s not all bad! This fast-paced khichdi of two previous ‘Italian Job’ movies and the director duo’s own last film ‘Race’ has so much going on all at once that you’re left with little time to dwell on the gaping plot holes, the laughable dialogue, and the wooden performances.

  • Don 2 is nicely shot, and there are moments where Shah Rukh Khan is riveting. But that’s not enough to hold your interest for well over two hours…even the actor’s most loyal fans will find themselves yawning. Although packed with fast cars and bikes, this is one slow ride.

  • ‘Jo Hum Chahein’ endeavors to strike a fresh note, but alas, it’s let down by the weight of its trite dialogues. It’s a decent first effort, even though it smacks of sameness.

  • It’s an easily watchable film with much to smile about. Pity it could’ve been so much more fun.

  • It’s an average film made eminently watchable by its courageous star. Go on, give her the awards already!

  • Go in with modest expectations and perhaps you won’t come out dissatisfied.
