Jazbaa is a film which thrives on style and Gupta knows how to present a thriller. Aishwarya Rai and Irrfan will take you to a new territory and then keep you there for most of its 130-minute duration. Jazbaa is a good watch this weekend.

The director’s commitment to social values is clearly visible in the film and he deserves praise for his efforts. It’s his conviction that makes the audience overlook the Bollywood-ised version of Rangabati.

Bangistan races through with a nice tempo, only to be brought to an abrupt halt with its highly predictable, and ‘heroic’ (read Bollywood-ised) climax. Still, it’s left with a lot of watchable and well thought-out moments. Bangistan deserves applause for its message-oriented content.

Drishyam works because it doesn’t talk about a hero but a common man. Drishyam works because you feel for every character in the film. Drishyam works because it leaves you stunned. Drishyam works because it keeps you glued to your seat till the last moment. Drishyam works because it’s a finely crafted suspense thriller after a really long time. Drishyam works because you thought Indian filmmakers can’t make good thrillers. Drishyam works because it shows two different India. Drishyam works because visuals can be deceptive.

This is a crafty move on the director’s part, as it translates facts into a humane narrative without giving much room for prejudice. Hope rears its head when needed the most. The humanitarian perspective is the movie’s biggest win.

Detailing is Bombay Velvet’s real deal and that makes it a watchable movie. Also, don‘t expect it to be another film on the line of Gangs Of Wasseypur 1 and 2. This time, it’s more about the masses.

Gabbar Is Back is a full on ‘masala’ film with a lot of applause worthy scenes. The buck stops at Akshay Kumar.

It’s a film that will keep you glued to the screen for all the 135 minutes it runs into. Don’t think of even missing a minute of it.

As per the film, the question is not about how many new lives we can have. Rather, it is whether ‘do we possess the courage to cross the boundaries?’

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is not as tight the previous version, but it’s certainly a good film to watch this weekend.
