The 110-minute film breathes fresh life into Blyton's pucca prose through state-of-the-art visual effects and racially diverse casting. Colourful visuals and agreeably kooky characters supply humour, warmth and a subtle message about keeping an open mind. The film keeps what's best about Blyton while judiciously excising the egregious bits.

Neeraj Vora's story and screenplay is a non-stop hodgepodge with some clever in-jokes about Bollywood and more generalised digs at human stupidity. The severely overstretched 164-minute movie isn't that self-aware to carry it off.

The action set pieces are the raison d'etre of this film, and they are fabulously done, even if a couple of them are somewhat derivative. Rohit Shetty's films were not supposed to strain so much to entertain. If it were not for Ranveer Singh, Singham Again would be borderline boring.
