Why wouldn’t the formula of violence, sex masquerading as romance and low-level humour work, when our audiences have told us that it will? Take that combination and milk it dry without stopping to consider creativity or originality. Rope in an actor who sees a chance to cash in.

Like his characters, who live their lives with no realization of how the real world functions, Malhotra shows no wisdom or depth in “Gori Tere Pyaar Mein”. Avoid at all costs.

…is not a realistic film, nor does it play out as well as it should. But you cannot take your eyes off the screen. With this film, Bhansali is back to his best — depicting the spectacle of falling in love. No one does it better than him. Forgive the flaws and savour this one.

This is not a movie that is worth your time and money. Spend it elsewhere.

“D-Day” isn’t the perfect thriller and the ending degenerates quickly into being jingoistic and loud, what with the villain and hero spouting homilies about the “new India”. But despite its flaws, “D-Day” is a film that works.

“Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” could have been an inspiring, uplifting film about one man’s journey, but Mehra botches it up completely.

Sport has enough inherent drama. All he had to do was show that. Mehra chose to play games instead, and ruined it.

“Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola” is a disappointing film, one that could have been so much more.
