If it is watchable in parts, it is only owing to the solid lead performance by Vicky Kaushal.

Titli isn’t a run-of-the-mill Bollywood film designed merely for the purpose of delivering entertainment. It poses questions, lays bare uncomfortable truths, and delivers sledgehammer blows.

In the din that the film generates, love is given a bad name and sent to the gallows. And that isn’t the ideal recipe for a film yearning for a generous shower of pyaar at the box office.

The quality of the acting, too, is of the highest order, with all the four principal members of the cast ? Sanjay Mishra, Richa Chadha, Vicky Kaushal and Shweta Tripathi leaving their imprint on the film with perfectly modulated and sustained underplaying. Masaan is a splendid little gem, an absolute must watch.

But even as Yahaan Sab Ki Lagi meanders along, its precise philosophical centre, the energetic performances from a cast of competent and convincing actors and the lively dialogues hold it together as it heads to a somber, though not downbeat, finale.

The rhythms and flavours of Yahaan Sabki Lagi Hai are its own. This is a film for those that have a taste for the offbeat.

Ab Tak Chhappan 2 is a film that is down for the count from scene one.

Though slow and meandering, “Wild” will appeal to cinephiles.

Overall, Director Bennett Miller, after generating the right balance for a tense build up crushes the impact with a rushed denouement. This leaves the viewers in a vacuum. If it were not for the ace actors and their performances, “Foxcatcher” would have been just another mediocre fare.

More could’ve been achieved in this laudable attempt but the director’s willingness to not challenge the cliches is very much evident. Nevertheless, “Naaigal Jaakirathai” is entertaining but beware of the formulaic presentation.
