"Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" is so cringe-worthy, yawn-inducing a superhero film that to say that it's a bad film would be over-honouring it: it's such an assault on the senses! The visual effects and some humour aside, there's just no soul in this grim film of sloppy visual effects. None of the star-cast is in there top form here, and there's cheapest and the most predictable heart to the premise you can think of.

It's above anything, a boring film and a testimony that there's nothing quiet like 'Marvel'. Skip it.
    0.5/5.

It's almost been a week since the eagerly anticipated "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" have hit the screens. As it had released on the holy weekend, I wasn't able to check it out & by the time, I decided to do so I was put off by feedback that I had received from my friends. However, on the behest of a couple of them I decided to watch it & pen down as to what I felt about it. So were the predominantly negative reviews that the movie had garnered justified???

The film unfolds from the climax of "Man of Steel" where Superman (Henry Cavill) battles with General Zod to leave behind a trail of destruction which also included Wayne's enterprises. Over time, Superman proves to be a saviour to thousands in numerous occasions but that doesnt suppress a gradual increase in the number of voices that held him responsible for the collateral damage on the aftermath of his conquests. Even Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) saw him as a threat to the planet & felt that he needed to be reined in before it was too late. In the meantime, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) who was also plotting the downfall of Superman comes to realise from his research that the invincible could actually be fallen with the help of kryptonite which he smuggles into the country. But before he could set his plan into motion, Batman steals it from him & prepares for battle against Superman. However, little did they realise that all of this was part of the masterplan of Lex Luthor who still had a couple of aces up his sleeve.

Zack Snyder started his career as a director about a decade back with "Dawn of the Dead" but what actually propelled him to the limelight was "300". Actually I loved that movie & since then I have been keeping a keen eye on his movies. His previous venture "Man of Steel" which had released a couple of years back was a blockbuster & I personally felt that it was the best way to reboot the Superman series. So ever since news of "Batman vs Superman" being filmed came in, I was one among the millions who waited for its release with bated breaths. Unfortunately, it didnt turn out to be half as good as I hoped thanks to a mediocre script by Chris Terrio & David Goyer. The film starts off with a bang with adequate ground work done for the future Justice League series & it progressively builds up the tempo for an awesome showdown between the superheroes. However, the much hyped "greatest gladiator match ever" barely took off & the manner in which it ended reminded me of some corny Bollywood lines. Eventually, the overdosage of CGI in the form of Doomsday might not have exactly excited the audience but the entry of Wonder Woman into the battle spices up the whole sequence. In the technical department, Larry Fong's visuals was fantastic while Zimmer's music didnt quite have the effect that we know him for. With the script & CGI not as captivating as expected, David Brenner should have been more judicious with the editing. Even Batman's suit & other Bat gadgets werent as enchanting as Nolan's series.

Coming to performances, Henry Cavill reprised his role as Superman but unlike "Man of Steel" the screenplay over here meant he barely had any opportunity to do anything else apart from scowl. When Ben Affleck was casted as Batman, I was kinda sceptical as to whether he would be as good as Christian Bale but I have to admit that he was perfect for the role. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was brilliant that I felt that she ought to have been given more screen space. But the same cant be said about Jesse Eisenberg who was neither physically imposing nor able to impart an threatening feel that we would associate with a villain. He seemed more like trying to copy Heath Ledger's Joker but fails miserably in all accounts. A plethora of other characters & superheroes also appear in the movie, but I dont think that necessarily needs to be mentioned here.

Verdict: Owing to the hype, it garnered an earth shattering initial but as per latest box office reports it's registering a steady decline in collections. I am definitely not surprised by this as the script failed to do justice to a set of characters which had immense potential to challenge the Marvel universe. Anywaz the fact is DC will still have to wait for some more time before they can usurp Marvel's popularity among the audience. In short, it's definitely worth a watch but dont have your hopes high!!!

    Rating: 2.5/5

    Regards...Ben

I was waiting to watch this movie since it was announced. Finally got the change to catch it in 3D and wasn't impressed. I mean, if you want to just watch the movie for 3D and the action, then sure it is very good. But if you want to watch the movie because of Batman/Superman arch story, then you are going to get disappointed for big time. The movie title is Batman Vs Superman, right? But do you know how much time the two spend time fighting. Just 10 mins max. The rest of it is surge(sic). Happy to see DC Extended Universe expanding, because when you need to get away from happy go lucky Superhero's (MCU), there are always DC movies which are dark and gritty. Most of the things weren't right. Jesse Eisenberg, Beginning, Middle, Ending, Story etc.

This movie should be renamed as Dawn of Super hero movies. After a wait of more than two years, you just get disappointed. I wpuld not give it more than 3 stars out of 10, but I have rated it 5 just because of the climax of the movie and the part of wonder woman.

Batman V Superman :Dawn of Justice is directed by Sir Zack Snyder starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman. There are some movies like ENEMY,DRIVE,SHINING,ONLY GOD FORGIVES which won't appeal to most people during it's release because of it's high content and complete offbeat treatment.I never ever expected this kind of approach for a Superhero movie but Zack Snyder did it with DAWN OF JUSTICE, we have to thank the film makers for their bold approach. This movie completely drenches you in this atmosphere they created and the cinematography by Larry Fong is fantastic. The Script by David.S.Goyer and Chris terrio is excellent, there are many threads(subplots) in the movie which feels cohesive. This movie is not about Batman and Superman fighting this is political drama the movie is about what happens if the god is on earth and how the people receive it. The relationship between Batman and Superman worked perfectly and there are dream sequences in the movie which tells the story visually without a lot of exposition . I am loving this movie more and more as i think more of it and Jessi Eisenberg as lex luthor's character is creepy and will scared me. The score by Hans Zimmer and Junkie Xl is extraordinary. But i had very small issues like the climax's CGI and i thought the movie could have been 10 minutes longer for exposing superman's character after a disastrous incident. The character arc of Batman makes sense and it becomes a reason for forming justice league. At the end of the movie you have to ruminate the movie because we are accustomed to simple plotted exposition heavy movies and it definitely haunts your brain and heart, this movie will be sitting as a tumor in your heart we can't forget this movie. Many critics are panning this movie i can understand that but do you remember STANLEY KUBRICK'S THE SHINING was also panned by many critics during the release and slowly it found it's audience and considered as MASTERPIECE.On the whole BATMAN V SUPERMAN is one of the greatest movies i have ever seen in my life and i will be watching it again.

Here's the Batman vs Superman review.
Zack Snyder. What the fuck is wrong with you? Even Christopher Nolan will go nuts seeing this. How can you be so naive?
First, fucked us up in "Man of Steel" and now this.
The tagline of the movie is "Dawn of Justice" . Probably, it should be "Dusk of DC"
I haven't come across a Comic book with this shitty plot. Wait, there's no plot at all.
Just action all around. That's not how you make it. And the Movie is Batman vs Superman, not how it started, the fight.
Audience showed patience for 2 hours and 33 minutes. And fight got over in 20 minutes.
Coming to the cast, Ben Affleck? He's a brilliant actor but trust me Zack Snyder will ruin his career. Henry Cavill plays an Okayish supporting role. Special thanks to Gal Gadot for entertaining all the horny people watching it.
I heard people saying ," Bhai, BvS Nolan ka TDK trilogy se better hai. " Eh?
Then I realized Donald Trump is going to become the president of US.
Holy fuck! How on earth can you guys tell that?
Summing it up, BvS is full of action with no God damn logic of why the war started. The only thing right about the movie is "Batman".
"Lol , Superman says the Avengers disappoint everyone." - Tony Stark
