• Though Yash can’t give his die hard fans again a run-away-hit like DDLJ, this movie is worth watching for its exotic foreign locales and excellent choreography by Shiamak Davar and Farha Khan. Madhuri’s age shows in some scenes but nevertheless she looks gorgeous as she is a natural beauty. Karishma is stunning and full of life through out the movie.Something’s amiss as far as Shah Rukh Khan is concerned. Perhaps, his extraordinary energy.

The sets of the film are so dapper and snazzy that they give the film an unreal look. The vegetable market where Rahul and Pooja meet is impossible to find in India. The film appears completely divorced from reality in what is otherwise a fairly plausible script ? notwithstanding the fact that it is so hackneyed. The screenplay in the second half is especially awry.

  • It turned out to be the world’s longest music video — which modern dances ALL looked the same after the opening song/dance sequence. In fact, Dil… is just a polished and slick version of HAHK!, and I wonder if that wonderful cinematographer, Manmohan Singh, emerged from the experience mentally unscathed.

A dream in which impossibly rich and beautiful people who have never known dirt and sweat and grime will gambol in impossibly exotic locations (this time Baden-Baden in Germany), play games of love, even shed a few tears but always live happily ever after. In Chopra’s chiffon and champagne cinema, there is little room for realism. And Dil to Pagal Hai (DTPH) is no different.
