The Huntsman: Winter’s War Reviews and Ratings
-
One wishes one could say for its star cast, impressive as it is. However, if the dazzling, imposing Theron is missing but for a few minutes of snarling venom at the end, the others are, to say the least, far from fairy-like.
-
Totally worthless, despite Hemsworth…
-
All said and done though, it’s the visual dazzle that keeps this one afloat.
-
If you watched the first movie and liked it, this sequel will disappoint you. And even if you haven’t, it will still disappoint you.
-
The lack of character detailing curtails the enjoyment to an extent while the erratic non-linear narrative adds to the woes. Nevertheless, there’s still plenty more to enjoy!

The Huntsman: Winter’s War is a classic and unfortunate example of Hollywood’s hankering for the revenue that a successful, or even moderately successful, franchise can yield. Sacrificing the basic tenets of entertaining and intelligent filmmaking doesn’t seem to be a concern. So don’t be lured into the theatres by the trailer of this one. The only thing magical about The Huntsman is how the trailer of this turkey managed to look promising.
-
It’s futile to compare The Huntsman: Winter’s War with the sequel (or prequel) because of the sheer pointlessness of both.
But, going by the film’s ending, which leaves us on an ominous note, we may have to endure another one.

It isn’t the worst movie in the world, but it’s not great either. It just simply exists.
