The film is beautifully shot by Nusrat F. Jafri and seamlessly edited by Irene Dhar Malik. Shashwat Srivastava’s music immensely adds to the film’s poignant beauty. The soulful performances by Geetanjali Thapa and Zain Khan Durrani are the movie’s major highlight. Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz is not meant for casual viewing but if you are looking for something deep and meaningful then you are encouraged to take the plunge.

  • Onir’s Kuch Bheege Alfaaz leaves you with moist eyes and a joyful heart.

The film’s title is a bit of an oddity in an era ruled by Facebook, Twitter, Tinder and WhatsApp.

Overall, credit must be given to a film that delivers the goods, and if you’ve ever liked Onir’s films, you’re likely to enjoy this one.

‘Kuch Bheege Alfaaz’, while takes time to say what it has to, is one story you will definitely want to hear.

On paper Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz seems just like what Dr Love would have prescribed. …However it takes the entire length of a film and some misunderstandings and complications for it to reach fruition.

Zain plays RJ Alfaaz and Shray essays the role of Archana’s friend in the film who nurtures feelings for her. Interestingly, Onir has also cast all of his characters with perfection. Be it Archana’s mom or RJ Alfaaz’s girlfriend, each actor has a remarkable presence in the movie.

It is just the stretched narrative that fails them all.

Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz is more for the festival circuit than for the commercial film circuit. As such, it will go quite unnoticed at the ticket windows.

  • All said and done, this is not your usual rom-flick. Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz is one of those movies which will be seen years from now making kids of that generation feel the love when WhatsApp was in trend. Years from now, a movie lover will watch this and feel how things were simple back then.

  • There are lots of great views in Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz, and one of its best features is its pretty, nostalgic depiction of slow, slow Calcutta. The movie itself does feel a bit long, and it could have reached its conclusion a lot quicker than the 116 minutes it took. But perhaps it’s just the newness of social media romances that we expect our characters to meet and climax earlier than they need to, or earlier than social media can let them get away without.
