Critic consensus

What 5 critics are saying

Critical reception for MSG: The Warrior Lion Heart is overwhelmingly negative. Critics uniformly rejected the film as propagandistic self-promotion for its subject, with reviewers pointing to an incoherent, absurdly plotted narrative that positions its central figure as a superhuman beyond compare. Common criticisms include its tacky execution, abrupt ending designed to set up a sequel, and what several reviewers described as sexist, communal, and racist messaging. No critic offered meaningful praise for any aspect of the film.

  1. Times Of India

    Film review ·

With plot twists that put daily soaps to shame, the film takes you on a tacky fantasy ride that ends abruptly. Why? Well, how else would there be MSG – The Warrior: Lion Heart 2?

  2. Rediff

    Film review ·

In a nutshell, Sher Dil is basically all superheroes combined. Sadly, the character is so magnanimous that no film can do justice to it.

  3. India Today

    Film review ·

an attempt to push the idea that Superman exists and he is Indian, and he beats even Superman in his own arena. If you believe that, you will love MSG The Warrior Lion Heart and you will not read a 600-word review to know how it is.

  4. Firstpost

    Film review ·

If you want your child to turn into a sexist, racist, communal, self-obsessed non-vegetarian hating fool, then this is the film for you.

  5. Scroll.in

    Film review ·

The religious leader seems to be able to churn out his propaganda films at an incredibly fast pace, much to the misfortune of the filmgoing public who are not his followers. A sequel, Lionheart 2, is in the works, which the end credits promise is coming soon to a cinema near you.
