Passengers Reviews and Ratings
-
With space travel offered up as the new adventure tour, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are actually accidental astronauts. And that is a real disservice to the impressive science of Passengers.
-
The effects or the experience of the movie doesn’t stand anywhere in comparison to the slew of exceptional sci-fi films we have had the good fortune to witness recently. So even if you are interested in nothing but space and spaceships, I suggest you pop on a Gravity or Interstellar Blu-Ray instead.

I think it is a good film to begin the year with; it lends you enough optimism not just at a personal but also at a universal level. Who knows what will happen when we actually set out on such journeys, by the time we get any news from the spaceship about its location and its status we would have waited decades or even a century after its departure and for those who would be on those ships, whatever happens, they can only enjoy the ride while it lasts, who knows what awaits them in those worlds.
-
It’s a great-looking film with an original idea. Watch it for its stars but it won’t have an astronomical impact on you.
-
It’s nothing like Gravity (the allusion is there), like The Martian (similar concept) or Interstellar (the motive for the journey) and so, despite some fine performances by the lead pair, it’s not going to leave a lasting impact.
-
Extraordinary visuals of technological advancement and well imagined outer space array of glittering bodies makes this one more than just a standard issue sci-fi experience.
-
Passengers could have been a half-jestful date movie about a pair thrown together as neither has anywhere else to go. If only it had more to say about human nature when faced with such a galactic crisis.
-
It’s a film made to appeal to the masses rather than to impress the jury at award functions. Staying true to its intention, Passengers looks stunning throughout. It is one of the best sci-fi films to release after Arrival and the effort put behind the special effects is clearly visible on the screen.
-
If you are in it for Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence necking each other in space, then Passengers could be an okay date movie for you.
-
‘Passengers’ is an enjoyable sci-fi yarn but a creepy romance
The chemistry between Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence helps dilute the sinister overtones in Morten Tydlum’s movie.
