Critic consensus

What 5 critics are saying

Critical reception for Rivaaz is overwhelmingly negative, with most reviewers finding the film poorly executed despite its socially relevant subject matter. The core criticism across reviews is that the film fails to do justice to the serious social issue it attempts to address, with one critic noting it descends into unintended humour that undermines its sombre intent. Only one reviewer offered a measured defence, acknowledging the film's story reflects real conditions in parts of India. The consensus is that weak execution renders the film largely unwatchable.

'Rivaaz' is a film which should not be condemned for not having big star cast and better production values. One can definitely watch the film for a story which is true for many parts of our country even today.

That is the biggest tragedy of this tamasha. The unintended humour makes a mockery of the social issue it set out to tackle by way of this film. A badly made comic caper is excusable, but a sombre social drama so preposterous is simply unacceptable.
