The Conjuring Reviews

It's a nice throwback to the moody horror films of the 70s. Wear long sleeves when you go to the cinema, or you risk your date digging her nails into your arm.

Most horror films claim to be 'based on real life incidents'. While they rarely live up to the hype around them, The Conjuring is an exception. The atmosphere build-up begins even before the film does, as a disclaimer is flashed before the opening credits, warning you that you might seek psychological help after watching the movie. The strategy works, as the film can scare the living daylights out of you. While we didn't feel the need to undergo any counselling, unsettling it certainly was.

Easily one of the scariest horror films to come out in the recent past, The Conjuring is smartly written, tightly edited and brilliantly executed. Be ready to get your daylights spooked out!

Whether or not you believe in demonic possessions, 'The Conjuring' is guaranteed to give you a sleepless night or two.
Audience Reviews for The Conjuring
-
James Wan's beginning to a horror franchise is already seeming to be an amazing beginning of an out-of-the-box saga of rhythmical, spontaneous thrills and scares, because thanks to the clichéd mannerisms of the recent horror flicks, hardly anything scares you. Surprisingly, it maybe a good fashionable history throwback with undertones and layered study of the actual events, it is also as entertaining as a Ramsay brothers Hindi film.
The story of the Perron family and the emotional intimacies around them swirl with style. The 70s soundtrack is absolute icing to the cake: but the Warrens, Ed and Lorraine are those who win you over. There family is less melodramatical and actually, more interesting. They uplift the film, really. And grab the awards, Vera Farmiga. She is really uplifting and sincere as Lorraine.
Above all, 'The Conjuring' is the horror film which we needed since a decade. It's four stars of five for 'The Conjuring'. Really waiting for what the next narrative has in store.0October 06, 19 -
