The Perfect Girl Reviews and Ratings

There’s nothing really stellar about this enterprise other than the beauteous camerawork that makes Mumbai and Goa look like much sought after international locations. The production values are of course spiffy and the performances are overburdened by boring and extremely tedious verbosity. Teeshay and Tara Alisha Berry fit in but are unable to generate any sparks to keep you interested.

It is a sweet and simple love story alright, but doesn’t exactly tug at your heartstrings. Nor does the longing and separation make you misty-eyed even for a nanosecond. Love is in the air, but at the same time, reincarnation and even sexual abuse are thrown in.

The Perfect Girl has caused a crater to form on my desk because I keep hitting my head against it as I recount this less than perfect slow poison of a film to you.

Teeshay and Tara Alisha Berry deliver well, despite some flaws. The film has some laughter-inducing moments and is different from other, run-of-the-mill romantic films.

Lead actors Teeshay, Tara-Alisha Berry are perfectly cast as they do a commendable job, despite being newcomers. We wish the story and dialogues had more substance like its iconic Hollywood predecessors for us to feel for their characters. The film may not be ‘perfect’ per se but has its heart in the right place. The cinematography deserves a special mention as well.
