• As much as its protagonists look for perfect words to articulate their findings on love, friendship, a space in between and beyond, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil simply reiterates the nature of its unpredictability through a twist I didn’t foresee or like.

Except that’s what makes this feeling so darn precious and difficult to part with.

  • One can predict the knocks and punches and dives and VFX-aided saves without as much as batting an eyelid. Although I liked that one long take chase around the police headquarters, at best Shivaay is a terrific looking terrible film.

  • Opulent Leh battles, seductive Rajasthan ballet, picture perfect frames of postured passion peppered in flared lens to the tune of a soundtrack that’s miles ahead of its scenery involving people we never care about in life or after — Mehra’s Mirzya sacrifices sense for style and that is its real tragedy.

  • Banjo makes a winsome start but takes an awfully tedious route to achieve its happily ever after…

  • It’s entirely on the writers and actors to make the proceedings seem crucial or comic. What shows up on screen is plain lazy on their part and it’s painfully dull to watch.

  • Sonakshi moves, feels and looks the part that’s all but empty heft in a script so extraordinarily dated and bereft of punch…

  • If Happy Bhag Jayegi succeeds in delivering a few laughs, it’s entirely to the credit of the actors…It’s silly but this is the most humour you can expect.

  • Budhia Singh: Born To Run is not so much a film as it is a passionate appeal to remind and regain an opportunity for Odisha’s erstwhile Wonder Boy, now a forgotten teenager…

  • Once the flaky fizz vaporises into nonsense and noise, a sense of tedium begins to steep in. Even so, at its 124 minutes running time, Dishoom doesn’t hobble for too long to hurt one’s butt or brain.

  • Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the franchise juggernaut comprising of small screen voyages and big continues to evoke nostalgia and inspire ingenuity.

But it’s the combination of these two qualities in the third installment of the reboot series — Star Trek Beyond — what makes it worth a trip.
