Guardians of the Galaxy
2014 · DNA India · Aug 2014
In my opinion this is the best Marvel film made till date, even better than the Avengers. Now, I say that because of what Gunn had to work with, and how he not only made 'Guardians' take off, but how he made it soar. You will definitely want to catch this one, trust me, it's going to make your favourite list too. Also, don't forget to wait for the post-credit scene.

22 Jump Street
2014 · DNA India · Aug 2014
Sequels are always tricky, but the fun filled ride, experiments a whole lot in this one, and honestly that's what works. It's not like they left out the clichés, they purposely put them in with great context, forcing you to laugh out loud. Throughout the film, you'll find references to pop-culture, and the franchise in general.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
2014 · DNA India · Jul 2014
The first film gave us a look at how the apes would eventually rise, while this one brilliantly explores their evolution and their ultimate dominance which will happen in the next film. This is one summer film you might not want to miss.

X-Men: Days of Future Past
2014 · DNA · May 2014
All in all, the film is a great step in the right direction. If the teaser shown in the end credits is any indication, the franchise is far from over but with this film as a base, there's hope for the X-Men yet. The bold move of combining the cast of the original film series with that of First Class seems to have paid of well, making this easily the best X-Men film to date, even better than X-2: X-Men United.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2
2014 · DNA · May 2014
The film is a well written, true to the comics, adaptation of one of one of Marvel's on the ground soldiers. Fans of the first movie, and superhero movies in general should definitely go for this one

Divergent
2014 · DNA · Apr 2014
...doesn't engage you enough to leave an impression. The film is entertaining and does have its moments, but it isn't engaging enough and in the end it's still highly forgettable.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2014 · DNA · Apr 2014
Overall the film is by far one of Marvel's best films, the cast delivers a strong and engaging performance and the movie will definitely be enjoyed by comic book fans and non-fans alike.

300: Rise of an Empire
2014 · DNA · Mar 2014
The film exhibits a substantially better story-line, great performances from the cast, a slew of familiar faces from the first film and obviously excellent visuals.

Non-Stop
2014 · DNA · Feb 2014
Oscar worthy this is not, nor might you remember it years later, but for now the movie is a fun way to kill a couple of hours. The movie is a far cry from 'Schindler's List' but it's by no means a bore. The pacing of the movie is fast and crisp, at no time will you be uninterested. The allure of the movie resides with the ability of the script to keep you guessing.

Dallas Buyers Club
2014 · DNA · Feb 2014
What makes 'Dallas Buyers Club' truly brilliant is that it becomes a roaring crowd-pleaser even while dealing with a slow and morbid topic like death due to disease. The film achieves this feat by making sure that none of the main characters accept the role of a victim, least of all Ron Woodroof played by Matthew McConaughey. Although the film is still one of the dark horses next to the other big names in the Oscar race, this is one film you will not want to miss, sheer brilliance all the way.

American Hustle
2014 · DNA · Jan 2014
...the film already dominating the award shows and getting rave reviews from festivals is a must-watch towering above an already existing pool of must watch movies.

The Wolf of Wall Street
2014 · DNA · Jan 2014
Bottom line, The Wolf of Wall Street is an obnoxious and voyeuristic film, but it is definitely brilliantly entertaining and one of the best films to come out in a long while.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
2013 · DNA · Dec 2013
Although the running time is a little on the long side (161 minutes), the film entertains throughout. But the most alluring part and definitely the best scenes in the movie are those with Smaug, the dragon.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
2013 · DNA · Dec 2013
...the movie works because all the elements blend together well. In a fantasy film, the best thing that can happen is not to lose track of the plot in the midst of overwhelming action sequences and over the top effects. And The Hunger Games - Catching Fire, does just that, it stays true to the story. Those who've read the books will not be disappointed, and those who haven't will be pleasantly entertained just the same.
