Omerta is not an easy film to watch. It cuts the protagonist’s movements down to size in episodic chunks and then regurgitates the vivid moments into scenes of colour-blinded documentation. There is a moment where Omar, pretending to be an ordinary tourist in Delhi named Rohit is accosted by an aggressive cop on the road who tells him bluntly that he “looks” like a Muslim.

Overall, by the end, Beyond the Clouds seems like a forced narrative that tells the tale of the unfortunate siblings who are trying to coexist within their circumstances.

Director Shoojt Sircar’s October is a poignant tale about love and hope, where Shiuli or night Jasmine flowers, which are perfumed and spread their fragrance everywhere and abound in autumn, is cleverly used as a metaphor to denote the ephemeral nature of life.

If you are a Tabu fan, you’d find it easier to handle the incongruities that surface throughout the film. If not, then the going might get tough for you.

Blackmail is a virgin territory in the comedy genre. It is heady and hedonistic, cocky and compelling in the way the comedies of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee used to be.

Overall, while the film is good in all respects, it is still not the Spielberg film one pines for.

A pretentious creative fantasy…An atypical, funny and amusing art house film about an art house, specifically a pretentious Stockholm museum devoted to progressive modern art…

It takes a lot of will-power to stand back and let the corrupt steal the thunder from the incorruptible. Raid tells us virtuosity may be boring. But it is still a rare bird worth capturing in the palm of your hand.

Overall, this film surrounded by almost no hype, is a pleasant surprise as it entertains you completely and keeps you riveted to the screen.
