Vijay Raaz makes his directorial debut with this movie and while his intent of getting behind the steering wheel of an off-beat film needs to be applauded, his content and execution needs questioning.
Even if it had to be a story about the partition and its aftermath, things could have been spiced up with more characters, instead of seeing just four performers in all for the duration of over 90 minutes.

If I had to rephrase a dialogue which would sum up this film, it would be; ”boring picture ek tuti pencil ki tarah hai; there is no point.”

Feroz Abbas Khan’s DEKH TAMASHA DEKH is a well-nuanced film which is frighteningly disturbing and intelligently engaging at all levels; be it at the stark portrayal of political situations, comedy or tragic relationships. DEKH TAMASH DEKH is liberating.

While the film per say is smooth and easy, what bothers is the steady tone in narration. Life is not so simple and people don’t always get angry in a polite manner. Sometimes, one does lose his or her cool. Every character is so guarded in their approach that you wonder how one can stay sane throughout.
Having said that, it would also be safe to say that 2 STATES will find acceptance from the ‘young in love’.

…a film that cannot be missed; especially keeping the elections in mind.

JAL is a classic example of how to waste a wonderful concept. JAL is a visual delight. The dry, arid land is captured well. So also is the basic premise. But what lacks punch are the two Indian officials whose character graph makes no sense. Ditto the ‘bland acting’ of the gora who behaves like a five-year-old who just had a fight with his friend.

Watch MAIN TERA HERO for genuine laughs and also for the emergence of new stars, in this case Varun Dhawan. Watch it also for Rajpal Yadav who is endearing in his act as the side-kick to Angad and Saurabh Shukla who moves from his ‘set dye’.

O TERI is one of those movies that require no strain on the brain to review. These types of movies are made ‘for the heck of it’. There is no thought given to any detailing on film-making. It’s as though the producers decided on the cast, then decided on the director and finally, they came on the sets and took it as the mood demanded.

We have seen a lot many film on politics; but most of it, nay all of them, are loaded with blood and gore. Not YOUNGISTAAN; Vashu Bhagnani’s Silver Jubilee production is full of the flavor of youth and the mood of the moment. This movie has soul. It’s a love story set in troubled times. It’s also a call for all youngsters out there to go out and make their vote count.
YOUNGISTAAN is definitely a movie to watch.

It’s light, easy, and funny, has a social message, and above all, lands a playful punch on the face of several Bollywood personalities that is hilarious in a respectful manner! GANG OF GHOSTS is recommended for your weekend dose of genuine humour.
