This one is a con story alright, but the con is on the viewer!

Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment may have worked for Vidya Balan in THE DIRTY PICTURE. But it’s not necessary that just the word is enough to entertain.

What works for BOBBY JASOOS is the casting, what pulls it down is its writing. Had the cast been anything but this, the whole film would have crumbled like a pack of cards, because it is these actors that inject some semblance of respectability in a plot that goes all over before finally reaching its core substance.

To Suri’s credit must go the easy-on-the-eye treatment of the film which is what keeps it ticking (albeit painfully) apart from Sidharth and Shraddha.
Ek Villian had the potential to be a Dushman, the 1998 thriller starring Kajol, Sanjay Dutt and Ashutosh Rana.

I understand that this is kindergarten humour at its best, but I have just one question for Sajid; is HUMSHAKALS really a tribute to Kishore Kumar and Jim Carrey?

The movie is like a Yusuf Pathan innings; the first few balls are hit over the rope giving the audience huge expectations. By the fifth ball, he has holed out in the deep.
End of story!

This is a well-intentioned film, with horror as its genre. But sadly, there is no link of sanity in its story-line for it to merit any sense of creativity. A frail attempt at a complex plot.
-
The only interesting part is when Sadanand tries to push in the patriotic angle. But that is like a desperate attempt to stay afloat after entering deep waters without a life jacket!
Take off Jimmy Sheirgill and the movie loses respectability. It’s like taking the ‘F’ out of Fugly!

For all the technological risks that Soundarya has taken, the characters have come across as stiff. Moreover, their facial expressions alternate from cold to horrible. There is no life in the eyes either!

As a film, HEROPANTI is a disaster. It looks good and has a good line-up of character actors. But sadly the script flounders from the beginning. If it has any semblance of sanity it is thanks to these support actors that prop the falling plot. The entire clan headed by Prakash Raj, who go bang, bang with the slightest of provocation hold their own, in their own bizarre fashion.
