Perhaps it’s about time Sparrow hung up his boots and thought real hard about what his next journey should be, because at this rate he’s just going about in circles.

It’s difficult to figure out what other surprises are left from the Xenomorphs — as of now it feels exhausting to watch another movie waiting for the eggs to attack not very smart people on a space ship. Perhaps it’s time to let someone else take a stab at this. Neil Blomkamp, with his proficiency in military hardware depicted in cinema and a good screenwriter would probably be a good choice.

There’s not enough heart in the film as much as, say, the equally weird ‘Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs’ but it’s a more memorable animation movie than Dreamworks’ last few films.

The only interesting aspect of the film is Vincent D’Onofrio who is delightfully unhinged as a blind priest with strange motivations – someone needs to cast this guy as the Ultimate Monster in a horror movie and watch the sparks fly.

Just when one thought the Young Adult genre of movies was dead, The Space Between Us pops up and continues to make the case for the genre to be permanently buried.

This is a movie that hates the audience and expects them to furiously hate it back.

The only reasonably enjoyable moment is in the end credits, when co-producer Salman Khan shows up to sing a song.

Don’t get carried away, though. Even that’s not worth sitting through the rest of it.

Streep is the only element worth watching the film for, but there’s only so much of ‘Streep pretending to be a failed rocker’ one can take.

It’s hard to fathom whom this film was made for. Perhaps folks who need a fix of some mindless action and thrills will find this passably interesting, but for those looking for something more meaningful, ‘No Escape’ is a deterrent.

Ultimately there’s no fun to be had in ‘Fantastic Four’, nor is it bad enough to be entertaining or unintentionally hilarious. It’s a tedious, laborious watch and a scathing indictment of worst side of superhero filmmaking that has exploding in Hollywood. If anything, the big guys Warner and Marvel can watch this movie and learn what not to do.
