• it’s inspired by a classic, but let down by its own triteness. Not a perfect film, but one that has its moments.

  • As you leave the hall exhausted from the sheer length of this misguided enterprise, you cannot help but note that despite its many flaws, this is a noble failure. The film doesn’t work, but not for lack of trying.

  • Aside from a few enjoyable moments, this film recycles so much that you’ve already seen before.

  • Even if the story itself leaves you wanting more, the storytelling makes you go the distance.

  • No question it’s going to make a lot of money at the box-office, but you have to be a die-hard fan to forgive this film its many flaws. The rest must resign themselves to the fact that there’s truth in that dialogue Aditya Pancholi’s character says about our hero in the film: “Iska time accha chal raha hai”.

  • The best thing about this film is that it’s over in 95 minutes!

  • It’s far from Varma’s best work, but it’s not entirely unwatchable.

  • It’s a charming little film that’ll leave you wiser and happier. Don’t miss it.

  • ‘Singham’ isn’t an unwatchable film, but how many times can you watch bad guys being whipped with a belt? Or heads being pummeled by a bare fist? There is such a thing as overkill, after all. I suspect it’s going to make a load of money; I only wish it was a better film. Ajay Devgn fans won’t be disappointed.

  • It proves that Zoya Akhtar has a unique, compelling voice and unlike many of her contemporaries, she actually respects that a cinema audience can be both intelligent and mature.
