• Debut director Abhishek Dogra gives us a film that’s an above-average entertainer, with an interesting story and a solid ensemble cast. Worth a watch!

  • The film is full of improbable developments, convenient cinematic license and absurd portions. The only redeeming features are the ensemble cast, a few engaging action portions and a fast-paced second half.

  • Shankar’s latest a complete disaster! ‘I’ really want to know how a film with such an interesting premise ended up as such a watered-down version. Too bad, really!

  • This is a below-par film – an unabashed copy, relying on a few lame thrills and the erotica to sail through. Whether it will, is for the audience to decide.

  • Bring on the yawns! It does seem that South Indian cinema has moved on and is exploring some wildly interesting stories, while Bollywood is perplexingly keen on retracting steps. This has to stop. Let’s hope this is not a sign of things to come in 2015.

  • Kashyap (Gangs of Wasseypur, Dev.D, Black Friday) gives us a film that represents a disturbing reflection of life. It’s a film where there are only villains in varying degrees and no heroes. It reminds you of his 2011 film ‘That Girl in Yellow Boots’.In the end, ‘Ugly’ is a fairly gripping film that’s also exhaustingly melancholic and cynical. After all, it does seem unreasonable to view the world only through smog-tinted glasses!

  • It’s amazing that the makers thought of bringing us such an entertaining and thought- provoking film through the eyes of this unique character. Perhaps we all need a PK with us. As PK says, Earth ki to lulli baji hui hai.

  • Worth a watch if you don’t mind the insinuated ‘80s style melodrama and the simplistic storytelling.

  • This story of a poor little rich girl falling for a rank opposite could have been cute in a rom-com kind of way. But everything in Main Aur Mr. Riight (that double ‘i’ is particularly bothersome), from the emotions to the characterization, is way too synthetic to leave an impact.

  • The film is worth a watch strictly for the cast and the songs. That’s if you’re willing to endure the unbelievably long and violent film for that. Clearly, Prabhu Dheva (Wanted, R…Rajkumar, Rowdy Rathore) is in no mood to let go of the stale Bollywood formula. And as the audience, you can either play along or move on!
