Atomic Blonde has a messy Cold War-era espionage plot that would not have worked at all had it not been for two things — Charlize Theron, and a host of crisply choreographed action sequences. Following physically demanding roles in Mad Max: Fury Road and Fast & Furious 8, Theron consolidates her reputation as the toughest heroine of the new millennium.

in the hands of David Leitch, one-half of the team that brought us John Wick, it’s a film that has one of the best action scenes of the last decade. Not even exaggerating. The scene arrives a little after an hour into the movie, and without a shadow of doubt, is worth the price of admission alone.

‘Atomic Blonde’ is just enough fun. But it tries so hard to be mysterious and unpredictable that it ends up being more chaotic than it deserves to be. Truly a missed opportunity that leaves you more baffled than awestruck.

  • The elements are all present — Theron as a super duper spy who can kick multiple asses simultaneously, action scenes with long takes and realistic punching and kicking, as well as moody cinematography and a ton of sex appeal. If only the story department worked a little harder to match up to the rest of the film.

Atomic Blonde is a treat for action lovers and fans of Charlize Theron, who is unbelievably badass while being sexy at it. The movie is not as riveting as the John Wick movies, but it has enough slick action scenes to satiate the action hound in you.

…on the face of it, “Atomic Blonde” is more of an interrogation film, rather than an espionage thriller and thus with Lorraine revealing the turn of events, the plot gets predictable and thus loses its spark.

  • Don’t be surprised if you don’t quite get the purpose of how things unfold in Atomic Blonde ’s climax. In any case, switch off your brain, come for Theron and stay for the action.

The film is miraculously salvaged by a glorious performance by Charlize Theron–the Atomic Blonde at the centre receiving generous support by the rest of the cast. The music and visuals shine as well to serve an entertaining action frenzy. Fans of the genre shouldn’t give Atomic Blonde a miss.

Theron doesn’t so much as dominate Atomic Blonde as steadily subjugate every other soul in the film — and those in the audience — into her complete command. She is most definitely atomic, but I’d try to do better than calling her a blonde. Don’t miss it

  • McAvoy lights up his scenes, but it is Theron’s unchanging visage and her claim to the female Bond crown that steer the show from one head-scratching but ravishing scene to the next.
