It isn’t half bad, but the party pooper here is a script that has no direction home.

Despite the cartoony swipes, and the thundering track underlying every scene, ‘Chillar Party’ proves that it is entirely possible to make a smart children’s film, with good production values, with kids seen to be having a blast.

You still wish these kids well. So to the others who will go, watch this short film, extended to a full length feature, if they must. Do children ever have much of a choice at theatres anyway?

On the whole, ‘Chillar Party’ will be liked mainly by pet lovers. Average in merits, it will find the going at the box-office tough and not just because it lacks face value and has been sandwiched between big and star-cast films and will continue to face the onslaught of big releases.
