  1. Cinema Express

    Film review ·

Pitted against each other in equally prominent roles, the two seasoned performers keep us guessing who the Garudan in the title is. But fortunately, it all comes together wonderfully in the film's all-important final reveal.
  2. TimesNowNews

    Film review ·

Arun Verma's Garudan is a legal thriller that delivers a taut, twisty narrative with strong performances from Suresh Gopi and Biju Menon.
  3. Indian Express

    Film review ·

This investigative thriller is both gripping and solid, attributes that were missing in many recent Malayalam movies of the same genre. Garudan is also a rare example that showcases how a compelling script can overshadow a film's many flaws.
  4. Ottplay

    Film review ·

You can even guess some of the red herrings that are casually or deliberately planted in the course of the narrative. In that way, you know how Garudan will unravel, but it is brought together with a cleverness that leaves you impressed.
  5. Film Companion

    Film review

In the end, it all comes down to how this director re-introduces a new kind of hero. Jithu Madhavan crowned Fahadh Faasil a modern mass king in by fully surrendering to the actor’s wild yet delicate side. Durai Senthilkumar tries to do the same with Soori. While it might not be as effective in its writing, Soori quite easily makes up for it in Garudan.
  6. OnManorama

    Film review ·

Biju Menon and Suresh Gopi are excellent in their roles as Nishanth and Harish, respectively. Though the screenplay moves ahead smoothly, there are some pitfalls too. The second half seems rushed, affecting the climax a bit. Nevertheless, the movie offers a lot of interesting twists that keep the audience engaged.
  7. The Hindu

    Film review ·

Garudan is filled with contrivances and some old-fashioned narrative tricks, though M. Jinesh's story and Midhun Manuel Thomas's script have enough in them to keep audiences intrigued for much of the runtime. Despite all this, if Garudan manages to keep on flying, it is only due to the strength of the story at its core, although one wishes things were a bit more convincing.
