Kick 2 Reviews
Kick 2 offers some entertainment here and there. It’s a typical Ravi Teja film with his mass dialogues and action, which attracts the front benchers. But when compared, Kick was far better than the sequel.
The first half of the film is definitely the more enjoyable part due to being high on emotions, laced with elements of fun and has the necessary dash of villainy. However, the pace slows in second half and so does the entertainment quotient as the focus shifts to the action sequences. The music gives the film a nice mood with the background score giving some scenes an elevation. However, improper placement of the songs - especially the title track, an item song - proves to be a turn off.
It is of course not fair to ask for logic in commercial entertainers, and also watching a film needs willing suspension of disbelief, but Kick 2 asks for willing suspension of common sense to enjoy it.
Baahubali=Grand. Srimanthudu=Simplicity. Kick 2= Unabashed craziness. Ravi Teja’s latest flick is a ‘leave your brains at home’ entertainer that is high on fun factor. Kick 2 defies logic, defies physics and is ten times over the top than a Rohit Shetty film. But it is amazingly entertaining too. Watch it just to add some masti to your mundane day to day routine.
Tollywood appears to have missed a hat-trick with Kick 2 after blockbusters like Baahubali and Srimanthudu. But it did not miss its winning streak. Kick 2 comes out as a winner if you are comfortable watching the same old slapstick comedy and emotional drama, with a bit of twist here and there.
A better screenplay, better entertainment would have made some difference to this predictable story. All in all, Kick 2 is not half good as the original Kick.
'Kick 2' garnered a massive 1150 screen release and hence it is expected to register career-best openings for Raviteja. In the full run, It has to generate a share of Rs 31 crore to attain a hit status. Prospects appear good in Mass Circuits and the final outcome depends mostly on the revenues in the First Weekend.
Kick 2 is yet another mass Ravi Teja film which has entertainment and emotions in equal doses. But lack of basic entertainment in the second half let’s down the film to an extent. However, a hilarious first half, beautiful songs and Ravi Teja’s strong screen presence in the film over shadow these flaws and decently entertain you with its emotional content.
