Lust Stories 2

From the pulpy and playful to the putrid and puckered, Lust Stories 2, pretty much like its predecessor, is a mixed bag. The storytelling isn't always lusty. But when it is, there is enough zest in here for the occasional creases not to get in the way.

Lust Stories 2 is equal parts passionate and ponderous, with segments that range from contrived and preachy to complex and satisfying. While 'The Mirror' stands out as the most nuanced exploration of class and desire, the anthology struggles with its treatment of intimacy, often talking about sex without meaningfully depicting it, and lacks diversity in representation across its four narratives.

Lust Stories 2 tries to hard to be edgy with only two film understanding the assignment and two struggling to make a point.

Once again featuring four short stories by four directors with a decidedly diverse film-making voice, it is a fairly worthwhile follow-up whose potential as a streaming franchise cannot be undermined. Most of the time, they offer a perfect platform for actors to fan their adventurous side.

A few hits and a few misses, Lust Stories 2 has more substance than the drama and antics that can take away from the story. Watch it on Netflix for some brilliant performances and a message that needs to be sent across.
