It’s hard not to be awestruck.

The 53-year-old leading man hasn’t self-destructed in five films, and I, for one, can’t wait to see Cruise lunge forth a sixth time.

Mission Impossible franchise has gathered a momentum all its own and there’s just no stopping it. MI 6 is something of a cert. The only question on which we are ready to take a bet is how Cruise will try to get himself killed this time.

A winsome mix of old school and new, Rogue Nation will thrill you throughout.

This well-balanced entertainer is a visual treat. Cruise is a delight to watch – even as he indulges in the same shtick in all the M:I films (a tad bit tiredly this time, it seems). And whatever you do, don’t miss the beginning.

The film is a must-watch for all those who love Tom Cruise. He is a great action hero, and the entire movie stands testimony to that fact. However, as far as the series goes, Rogue Nation is possibly not the best of the lot. Ghost Protocol had a lot more to its story, and Mission Impossible II definitely stands above the rest. This instalment will not disappoint those who love the franchise, but that is about it.

…will not leave the fans disappointed as it is one of the best films from the franchise. If the chase sequences and gun fights are your thing, then this film is definitely worth a watch.

Christopher McQuarrie (who wrote The Usual Suspects and directed Jack Reacher, Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise) is at the helm of affairs here and he has peppered the film with enough action and thrills to make this fifth film in the series, one of the better mainstream Hollywood films in recent times. And they did it in 2D.

The story is cookie cutter by ‘Mission Impossible’ standards but it’s the way the story is presented that makes all the difference. McQuarrie bravely spends time establishing character arcs and genuine conflicts that render stakes, so when our heroes are in danger you root for them to make it out alive. The film also moves at the pace of a hurricane, zipping from one exotic foreign locale to the other, yet somehow seeming coherent.
