Boman’s heart-felt performance lifts the film to some extent. He gives Farhad dignity. You feel for him, even when he’s selling fluorescent green underwear. Clearly Bela has great affection for her characters. I just wish she had given them a better plot to play in.

Though a bit on the sluggish side, Shirin Farhad Ki To Nikal Padi is warm-hearted and generally watchable without being exhilarating.

Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi is a cute rom-com, but it seriously needed a bigger dose of romance and comedy.

There are some laughs but they are few and far between. Juggling between comedy, romance and drama is never too easy as you discover this the hard way while watching the film.

First-time director Bela Sehgal does well with an off-beat script, but casting is a big let down.

Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi had its heart in the right place but the execution left a lot to be desired. Watch it if you must for Boman’s sweet charm.
