Spark Reviews and Ratings

It truly is surprising that a film with a story so bland and hackneyed got made in the first place. It is even more surprising that a competent actor such as Ashutosh Rana who made you sit up and take notice of his fine act in his last release Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania agreed to be part of something as banal as Spark, something which this film has none at all. Ditto Sanjay Mishra who blew us with his work in the recent Ankhon Dekhi.

Spark is a dated political action flick that looks to have been concocted by melancholic film buffs in a smoky room during a mandatory 1-day editing course.

Spark’s title, like everything else about it, is random.
Filled with twisted morality and creepy old uncles who like to watch (and how I hate to use this term) item girls sing about their ‘jawaani’ and ‘solah baras ki kahaani’ — 16 is underage, just FYI — Spark simply failed to ignite the flame.

Overall, not many will have the patience to sit through this dreary tale. The title is misleading for sure.
