In too many places, the spectacle is allowed to overpower the screenplay, which is too busy whipping up hit-film-referencing dialogues and situations to bother about creating real feeling.

Varun Dhawan is back in form after the mishaps that were Baby John and Citadel, exuding confidence, comic timing, and a freshness that was lacking for long. The Varun-Janhvi pairing is synergistic and the energy in their dance sequences is something to relish, with the film offering a light, sparkling narrative that is refreshingly done.
