• The unavoidable trappings of the genre notwithstanding, Thor: Ragnarok is a whole barrel of fun.

  • Thor Ragnarok is a true rock and roll original, and the reason it exists is because there’s a director who’s sure all that titters is gold.

Clearly, third time is a charm for Thor as ‘Ragnarok’ is the best film on the Asgardian till date, and another entry from Marvel you simply cannot miss!

It’s a lighter, funnier, and sunnier Marvel movie…

One of the highlights of the films is how the writers and the director have distributed screen time amongst all characters uniformly, no one overshadows the other.Thor, Loki, Hela, The Hulk, The Grandmaster: every character has his own moments & there are no superheroes or supervillains, everyone is just so cool.

  • Just go and live the madness! Take a trip without snorting any drugs. Be a witness to the revolution of superhero movies starting with this one. Thor: Ragnarok will be easily remembered as one the best movies ever made.

  • This is a well-designed Marvel Universe, crossover franchise, spectacle party, riding high on Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song,” that’s bound to get everyone who watches it, into a tizzy!

  • You should watch Thor Ragnarok on the biggest screen in your town, and to be able to enjoy the pop fizzy colour palette you should head to a theater playing it in 2D. This is a new standard set for superhero movies, and I wonder how Marvel will top this with the Infinity War movies.

Thor: Ragnarok is definitely one of the most gorgeous-looking and as well the funniest Marvel movie till date. Chris Hemsworth’s charming performance, a really strong supporting cast and Taika Waititi’s confident direction make for one entertaining superhero movie with dollops of humour. Also make sure you catch the post-credit scenes, as one of them hints about a very big movie that will come out next year.

Thor: Ragnarok is full of individuals stranded in foreign lands —Thor, Loki and Banner on Sakaar, Hela in a prison somewhere, and, eventually, an entire population without a home. You don’t expect a nod to the global refugee crisis in a film this entertaining, but there it is.

Overall, the film is a fun watch which will appeal to non-Marvel fans too.

Thor Ragnarok is a sumptuous feast for action lovers that riding on the back of some solid performances manages to deliver several moments of insane visual brilliance. It perfectly fits into the definition of cinema that’s both cool and calculated. In terms of its themes, it comes across as a stylish rehash of films like Star Wars, The Mummy and Gladiator. Thor Ragnarok makes for a decent one time watch but if Hollywood-spawned formulaic escapism is not your cup of tea then you better steer clear.

The film is blissfully free of any lazy romantic subplots (was anyone actually invested in Thor/Jane?), but unresolved tensions between characters are a welcome addition. In the meantime, some seriously cool battle scenes feature from start to finish, and the use of Led Zeppelin’s militant Immigrant Song will have even the most unenthused of audience members rooting for the God of Thunder and his motley crew of unlikely heroes.
