In the Marvel movie-verse, it is hammer time again. A $200 million-plus son-et-lumiere spectacle, Thor is recommended for those with a taste for a decidedly funny fantasy.

  • This movie is also about sibling rivalry as well as a long-distance love story with an intergalactic twist. Don’t miss this one.

  • Thor rises to the occasion, he flies, but doesn’t quite soar! Fans won’t be disappointed though.

  • The focus here is not so much about narrating an original adventure as it is about how engagingly the film narrates a predictable storyline. The climax as well as its build-up make for all-out fun.

Bring on Thor 3, but serve it with a few surprise spins.

  • …has the same problems that Iron Man 3 did — it’s a mess, and it shows. The narrative is all over the place, catering to the dumbest possible audience. From jarring editing to tonal shifts, there is no semblance of flow or continuity to be found in Thor 2.

All in all, a good comic-book film. Definitely worth catching.
