Thudarum

Thudarum is a masterpiece for adults, a serious yet self-aware piece of cinema that has something for everybody. The film is a refreshing change of pace for Mohanlal, and we get to see him ease into the part of a layman with the necessary emotional consistency after a long time.

Even during the film's darkest moments, the filmmaker behind 'Operation Java' and 'Saudi Vellakka' doesn't forget to inject us with much-welcome doses of catharsis.

He features Mohanlal in a role that has a good character arc with emotional depth and is highly relatable. The end result is Thudarum which gives Mohanlal the room to display the actor in him which we all so love.

Jakes Bejoy’s music elevates the scenes, making a real impact in the storytelling. Shaji Kumar’s cinematography is excellent and it is perfectly coordinated with the edits by Shafeeque VB and Nishadh Yusuf. Their collective work lay the ground for the mood of the film.

Thudarum is not just another star-driven project — it's a celebration of everything that makes Mohanlal a legend. For fans, this is the theatrical experience they have been craving. And for general audiences, it's a reminder of the rare magic that occurs when a great actor is given the right canvas.

Thudarum is indeed a 'Splendor'—an evergreen machine that still rules Indian roads, just like 'A10'. While many filmmakers attempt to ride entirely on Mohanlal's stardom, 'Thudarum' comes as a breath of fresh air. Overall, 'Thudarum' is undoubtedly a vintage Mohanlal show.
