Pyaar Ka Punchnama
2011 · DNA India · Oct 2015
The only problem with PKP is its running time. The second half seems never-ending, sappy and pleading for sympathy. The MCPs probably don't realise that women don't think much of them and PKP won't do much to change that. (Now you know this review is written by a woman.)

Insurgent
2015 · Deccan Chronicle · Mar 2015
Insurgent is not unbearable. A one-time watch (at least for the Divergent fans) may be the maximum you'd want to give for this one.

Begin Again
2014 · Deccan Chronicle · Jul 2014
Music as a medium of expression can never be underrated. Be it love, infatuation, indifference, scorn, or even anger, you can arrange it all on a staff, throw in words and voila, you have an outlet for your deepest feelings. Begin Again is one such film that arranges many emotions, strung together by fairly realistic happenings.

Lekar Hum Deewana Dil
2014 · Deccan Chronicle · Jul 2014
In short, LHDD is Love Aaj Kal, Jab photographer Met Rockstar, and set out on a Highway, landing in a Cocktail of sorts. Watch it only if you've exhausted all other movie options this week.

Love, Wrinkle-free
2012 · DNA India · Mar 2013
Every family is dysfunctional. The Monteiros are just a bit more. Be sure to have fun at their expense. It's clean indie fun at its best.

Krishna Aur Kans
2012 · DNA India · Mar 2013
The Hindi is heavy and understandably repulsive for children. However, voices by renowned actors like Om Puri, Juhi Chawla, Sachin & Supriya Pilgaonkar and Manoj Bajpayee do justice to the intensity of the characters. It's time to introduce your kids to Krishna the prankster god.

Sadda Adda
2012 · DNA India · Mar 2013
The boys are a fun lot but not fun enough to keep you entertained throughout. Skip this adda and pick up a DVD of Pyaar Ka Punchnama instead.

Ghost
2012 · DNA India · Mar 2013
If adventure is your thing, go on, have a good laugh but don't complain you weren't warned.

Damadamm!
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Let's talk about the story. Your character is in a relationship with Shikha (Purbi Joshi) for five years. Isn't that too long a time to suffer a "possessive, nagging" girlfriend?

Loot
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
What could have been an entertaining and perky comedy turns out to be silly and unbearable even in the first half. A total waste of resources, watch Loot at your own risk.

Tell Me O Khuda
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Hema Malini chooses to direct similar emotionally-charged scenes on loop, this time in Turkey. The cinematography here is breathtaking but unfortunately not enough to keep you hooked.

My Friend Pinto
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
My Friend Pinto is one happy, no-frills film that's sure to make you smile. As one of the characters rightly says, a smile is what we need the most sometimes. Recommended.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
For those (which, I assume, is a lot of us), who may not be able to afford a holiday in Spain for any time soon, go catch ZNMD for good performances, music, Spain and of course, Farhan Akhtar in his element.

Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
You decide which part of the duniya you're part of. We love the angry young man of the 70s and 80s. Bachchan saab, aaj khush toh bahut hoge tum, but this angry, wanna-be buddah does not make us feel the same.

Bhindi Baazaar Inc.
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
It's certainly no 'risk' to miss out on the momentary thrills that Bhindi Bazaar offers. If you're not a hopeless Mumbai freak in search of these, stay at home, sip a cup of chai and enjoy the rains.

Bheja Fry 2
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Bheja Fry 2 lives up to its name, deep-frying your head with its bland existence two times over. Bellary has said in an interview that he wasn't keen on Bheja Fry 3. Thank God for small mercies.

404
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Go for this one with a bottle of patience. It runs for so long that you could start hallucinating whether the movie is real.

Luv Ka The End
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Peppy and conversational dialogue, relatable instances and a lot of madness make LKTE an enjoyable chick flick. Mostly appealing to the college going crowd, LKTE might just be downright unbearable for the others. We recommend this one if you're in the mood for a mindless watch.

Zokkomon
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
With limited special effects and unnecessary running time, this Disney production is way below the mark when compared to slick and smart Hollywood films on offer for the young audience.

Shagird
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
There isn't much going for the film apart from Patekar's wit and Kashyap's acting talent. Without them, this film would probably have not got a single star.

Patiala House
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
For a Bollywood- and cricket-crazy country, Patiala House seems like a dream that marries both off with aplomb... patialvi style.

Impatient Vivek
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Impatient Vivek is so appalling you can't even forgive yourself and say you left your brains at home. Pat yourself on the back if you leave the cinema hall cheery and happy after this alleged rom-com, for you will have passed the toughest test of patience devised so far.

Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
A visit to the theatre may well not be worth it. A television premiere might be a better option.

Yeh Saali Zindagi
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
With a bit of patience, however, YSZ isn't a bad choice for this weekend. If patience isn't one of your virtues, however, wait for the television premiere.

United Six
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Six pairs of hot legs, constantly on the run about Bangkok in skimpy outfits sounds like a great idea for a boys' movie night. United Six may have a lot of chicks but is no chick flick. The film engages you, but only in parts. Unless half-baked entertainment is your thing, don't bother with this one.

7 Khoon Maaf
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
All in all, no words can fully express the wicked experience of 7 Khoon Maaf. Go catch it for some 'bloody' good performances and a great storyline.

Tanu Weds Manu
2011 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Tanu Weds Manu is enjoyable as long as it lasts, but doesn't stay with you as you walk out of the theatre. Watch if you must, but only for the performances. We recommend you wait for the TV premiere.

Memories in March
2010 · DNA India · Nov 2012
If you can't catch Memories in the theatres, you won't be missing much, to be honest. Watch it only for the beautiful story, narrated in three languages (English, Bengali and Hindi) with a real human touch.

Dhobi Ghat
2010 · DNA India · Nov 2012
For entertainment or emotional stimulation look elsewhere. There's every reason you can miss this one. Unless you like to believe you're among the intelligentsia.

Ek Tha Tiger
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Salman never fails to entertain and the release of Ek Tha Tiger is aptly timed. This Tiger is sure to bite his way to another box office success. That's not news anymore.

Bol Bachchan
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
If you liked the Shetty Golmaals and Singham, this review will only be bol bachchan for you. Have fun while it lasts.

Gattu
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Gattu scores high on the emotional quotient. It leaves you with a smile on your face.

Cocktail
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
You can't hate a film like Cocktail nor can you love it in totality. If you've liked Ali's storytelling before, there's no harm in catching it at least once. Cheers!

Ishaqzaade
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Watch if you must, go expecting nothing. You might just enjoy Ishaqzaade.

Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 1
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Even though there's so much going for GOW I, there's something always amiss, something that leaves you underwhelmed after all those expectations. May be it's a hope of a dashing GOW II. Let's wait and watch.

Teri Meri Kahaani
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Waiting for its television premier would be a wiser choice to catch this kahaani.

Arjun: The Warrior Prince
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
The story will have an instant connect with the older audience. Chaudhuri cleverly uses action sequences to keep one gripped. He takes a mythological story and presents it as an all out action flick, which is educational and enjoyable for kids and adults alike. Yudhveer Bakoliya lends his voice to Arjun, while Vijay Kashyap's Shakuni Mama is less scheming and adds comic relief.Let your kids absorb the story, while you can marvel at this step forward for the Indian animation film industry. It's a great way to have fun while you learn.

Dangerous Ishhq
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Dangerous Ishhq is like watching a Dr Brian Weiss book in 3D, after about 30 pages, it gets monotonous and uninteresting. There's only so much curiosity you can have in somebody else's life. By the end of the ordeal you wish to be treated to a past life regression theory to find out what was it that drew you to it. The first line was a ploy to make you read the full review. Go curse your karma now.

Fatso!
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Fatso is a romantic comedy with lots of romance and only sporadic comedy. Not exactly the best bet to throw your weight behind this weekend.

Tezz
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
May be Priyadarshan should stick to mindless comedies, so we can be sure we're in safe territory. You won't be missing much if you skipped Tezz.

Vicky Donor
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Run to the nearest theatre and surrender yourself to the charm of Vicky and his team. This "Aryaputra" provides only good quality sperm…err… entertainment.

Blood Money
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Blood Money's trailer gives out the film in 2.05 minutes. And if those posters of Kunal Khemu in the pool with a bunch of babes are stimulating enough to drag you to the theatre, think twice. The lead pair salvages the film to an extent, but a limited scope of the script binds them both from making it an entertaining trip. The out of sync sound in many scenes makes Blood Moneytechnically unstable. Add to all this innumerable songs. Wait for Blood Money's television premier. Or else, watch the trailer. Why waste 2.5 hours on something you can watch in 2.05 minutes.

Agent Vinod
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Agent Vinod is smartly put together and works because of Saif. That is enough reason for you to go watch it.

Bittoo Boss
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
So why should you watch Bittoo Boss? You can see it's made with love. The intention is honest and debutant director Supavitra Babul's vision of an entertainer (under parental guidance) comes through. The real fun begins when Bittoo takes to making 'billu fillums' in a Shimla guesthouse. Even though the film wanders, with the first and second half almost disconnected, it is an earnest attempt. When it's not trying too hard to impress, Bittoo Boss is worth at least a onetime watch.

Ekk Deewana Tha
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Released only a few days after Valentine's Day, clearly to cash in on extended revelries, Ekk Tha Deewana may draw in the crowd. But it'll still remain only a tiresome journey of a couple in love. A simple and sweet story treated badly. Skip. Simple.

Paan Singh Tomar
2010 · DNA India · Nov 2012
Dhulia gets it right all the time. But the transformation is too quick to be believable, my only problem with Paan Singh Tomar. Forgivable when pitted against the film as a whole. The length could have been worked upon too. Dialogue, as is true for most Dhulia films, is the strongest point of this one too.Gritty and power packed Paan Singh Tomar is a tribute to the unsung heroes of sports in India. Dhulia's direction and Irrfan's integrity will make Paan Singh Tomar among the best movies of recent times.

Staying Alive
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
When was the last time you took a long walk with your husband/wife? Talked about the natural beauty you saw around? About young children who'd soon grow up to become responsible individuals? Or just went up to an estranged friend and repented for being a rogue?

Barfi!
2012 · DNA India · Nov 2012
From start to finish, director Anurag Basu never gives up on Barfi's quirkiness. The storytelling leaves you positive, rekindling a lost belief in old-style, unconditional loving. For someone who cries easily at the movies, Barfi! is a thorough tearjerker. Dissecting a film that left you speechless is difficult. Just let go, indulge in the magic of Barfi!
