• For its 139-minute duration, the film seems stretched. The narrative is reiterated in the last act, making the viewing a tedious fare.

  • The only issue in the film is that the third act feels so rushed, leaving too many logical steps unanswered. Also, the subplot about Andi’s relationship with his sick and withholding father goes nowhere interesting and it certainly doesn’t explain how he turned into a monster.

  • The set piece of the opening act, an inter-dimensional bazar known as Big Market are a few scenes that show the potential power of Besson’s transporting vision. But they all feel like manic decorations meant to stimulate and distract from the glaring deficiencies of the characters and the story.

  • Nothing is implausible if it works in cinema. After all, it is a part of getting the job done and hence, one does not complain when it comes to Mubarakan as it entertains you wholeheartedly.

  • …the hype surrounding this film is bound to get you to watch it and disappoint it wont.

  • …with the enemy not shown, Dunkirk is a cleverly made film that’s worth watching in an IMAX or on a 70mm Projection.

  • …with a run time of two hours and forty five minutes, there are moments when you inadvertently end up snatching forty winks.

  • While some of jokes work swimmingly for example Rawal’s entry gag where he brings an entire organization to a standstill while escorting his wife up the elevator, other gags simply apart. Much like the guests who overstay their welcome, come of the jokes also go on for too long. As writer-director Ashwni Dheer’s roots are in television several plot point read like episodes from a television sitcom.

  • Mom is an important film. Though its theme is nothing new the debutant director ensures a vigorous accountability to almost every scene. You may be tempted to wonder why Mom seems such a special film with almost every shot exuding a freshness and a secret relevance that may or may not be revealed at any point. It’s just so reassuring to have Sridevi around. Thank God some things never change. This is one of the best films in recent times. And not only because of Sridevi.

  • With excellent production values, the film is a visual treat that will appeal to all.
