Komal Nahta's Film Reviews
-
Vijay Krishna Acharya’s screenplay is superbly exciting as it keeps the eyes of the audience glued to the screen. Yes, there are a few dull scenes but the impact of the interesting parts of the film is so outstanding that in the overall scheme of things and because of the brilliance of the major portions, the dull portions pale into insignificance.
-
…fails to thrill or send a chill down the audience’s spine. It will, therefore, not appeal to the audience and will bomb at the box-office.
-
Gurmmeet Singh’s direction is ordinary. His narrative style does not succeed in keeping the audience’s interest alive for too long. Of course, the weak script is also to be blamed.
It will meet with a disastrous fate at the ticket windows. -
…a routine revenge drama which will not find favour with the audience. Its performance in the single-screen cinemas of mass centres may be just about okay but it will fail to cut ice with the multiplex audience.
-
…has an interesting first half but the post-interval portion, to a large extent, mars the impact because it does not go well with the first part. It has hardly anything for the single-screen cinema audience because the humour is more class-appealing. At the box-office, it will not be able to do much. If it still manages to sail safe, it will be because of recoveries from sale of satellite and audio rights. Its performance Overseas will be quite alright.
-
…is a routine action and revenge drama for the masses only and has some chance in the single-screen cinemas, more of Northern India. Its business in the multiplexes will be weak. In the final tally, it will entail losses to several of its distributors.
-
…is a surefire hit. The film has masala for audiences of all classes and age-groups. It will score in multiplexes as well as single-screen cinemas, in big cities as also smaller centres. It will be liked by the classes as well as the masses.
-
…is not at all a worthy sequel to Satya. At the box-office, it will fail to perform. It has taken a dull start and there are very bleak chances of box-office collections picking up anywhere.
-
…a box-office bonanza which will write box-office history. It will do outstanding business and will emerge as one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. In spite of lack of comedy, romance and hit music, it has tremendous repeat value. Let it be said loud and clear: Some films are destined to write box-office history, and Krrish 3 is one such film. It is: Avatar meets Superman meets Indian sentiments!

Mickey Virus is a good entertainer but very very simplistic. Hence, a section of the computer-literate world will not appreciate the over-simplification of the job of a hacker; as for the computer-illiterate audience, the drama, in any case, would be Latin and Greek for them and, so, incomprehensible. Besides, the extremely dull pre-Diwali period will take its toll on the film. Commercially, it will not be able to do much at the box-office.
