Critic consensus
Critical reception for Krrish 3 is sharply divided, with scores ranging from enthusiastic endorsements to outright dismissals. Supporters consistently highlighted the film's visual effects and technical ambition as its strongest assets, with several praising Hrithik Roshan's screen presence and the film's large-scale entertainment value. Detractors, however, were pointed in their criticism of the story, with multiple reviewers independently noting that the film borrows heavily and transparently from established Hollywood superhero franchises such as X-Men, Spider-Man, and Superman, resulting in a narrative that feels derivative and lacking originality. The writing and screenplay drew particular fire, with weak plotting cited as the primary factor undermining the film's technical achievements.

... isn't a patch on the best superhero films made in Hollywood but it is a step forward for Bollywood. Somewhere in the future of this franchise, the superhero concept and the requirements of mainstream Hindi movies will merge seamlessly. Until then, cut the Roshans some slack and enjoy. I'm going with three and a half stars.

The film is ambitious but flawed. It is, however, consistently watchable for its terrific lead star who you can't take your eyes off, even for a moment.

If there is any worthwhile takeaway from Krrish 3, it is simply this: the titular masked messiah is an 'idea' and there is a superhero in each one of us.

'Krrish 3' is a superhero film. It is also a throwback to the creaky family entertainers Bollywood used to make. The hero has special powers, sure, but also a loving daddy, a lovely wifey, an attractive moll and a villain with severe daddy issues. Only a pet poodle or parrot is missing.

...the only superpower Krrish has is that of boring the audience. Just stay away, will you? It's the responsible thing to do. An empty wrist will serve you best.

The superhero of atrocious superhero filmmaking has struck again, and it's not a pretty sight. Take the most superficial components of X-Men, Batman, Superman, Spiderman and even Shaktimaan; stuff them together in a litter bag, set that bag on fire and inhale the fumes – that's pretty much what Krrish 3 feels like.

...has the ingredients that make a splendid superhero film, besides being Rakesh Roshan's most accomplished work so far. Besides a riveting plot, the film scores brownie points thanks to the strong undercurrent of emotions, the clash between the protagonist and antagonist/mutants, the awe-inspiring visual effects, the larger-than-life entertainment and of course, Hrithik Roshan, who is matchless in this avtaar. It's a Diwali bonanza for moviegoers across the globe and is sure to conclude the celebratory period on a high. BLOCKBUSTER.

For sheer vision, bravado and superlative execution, this one soars to new orbits. Latch on to this cape for an exhilarating ride.

...is not perfect. But it has all the elements a good, entertaining film must have. All you Marvel superheroes, better watch out. Krrish is here to stay.

Take a bow Rakesh Roshan. The technology used is brilliant and the overall product is awesome. KRRISH 3 is a must watch!

This is the kind of film one can unabashedly enjoy for what it is. Go on, indulge the superhero fan in you.

The makers made sure that it sends a positive message, 'there is a superhero is in all of us'. Krrish 3 is a worthy addition to the franchise.

...Krrish 3 doesn't soar. In fact, Krrish doesn't even fly about a lot. And so he doesn't scoop us up either, and lets us off a bit disappointed after promising an exciting, thrilling ride.
Film review ·
Watching the extravagant affair that Krrish 3 is, you realise the film's failure to scale exceptional heights is not necessarily about its tech-specs. It lies in the fact that the story reveals no ambition at giving the superhero genre any extra dimension as, say, The Dark Knight flicks or Iron Man have done in Hollywood despite not losing out on the fun factor.
Film review ·
It's not original. It's not subtle. What Krrish 3 is is astonishingly eager to entertain with its stock of doodads that should amuse if not endear.
Film review ·
...scores top marks for the visuals but takes serious beatings in the story and hence ends up disappointing you.
Film review ·
...isn't a terrible film but it is massively disheartening and mood dampening because of its imitative premise. Hrithik reprises his role of Krrish with an enigmatic energy and infallible which is the film's most glistening point. The ludicrous storyline is miffing but the chiseled bodied superhero indulges us enough to make this film a decent one time watch this festive season. Don't expect too much or pine excessive hope on this one. A well intentioned, brave effort but falls notches beneath an exhilarating cinematic experience.

...the kind of film that keeps you entertained and holding your breath because of the sheer absurdity of it all.
Film review ·
Krrish 3 looks like a mish mash of popular Hollywood superhero films – Spiderman, Superman and even X Men - they are all blatantly ripped off in this two and half hour saga that mainly caters to kids and juveniles. Why else would you show something, then tell about it and then explain it, just in case you missed it the first and second time around. Five writers have been credited and don't be surprised if each of them was given a Hollywood franchise to 'adapt'.

...a bloody enjoyable film, even if for all the wrong reasons. Watch it in all its big-screen glory, and live to tell the tale.

Loud, violent, and utterly lacking in soul...

...could have been a much better film if it had been a tad more original. The blatant plagiarism from other superhero films, the absolute lack of creativity, has made me lose respect for the makers and the film itself. In conclusion, after watching Krrish 3, all I can say is that I need a therapist.

Even with all the Bollywood masala, the film lacks originality and the superhero appeal.

...will turn out to be a fun adventure for the little kids and Hrithik loyalists. For the rest of us, it's going to be just another superhero attempt in the right direction. Hopefully, it won't be long before we get our very own superman!

...a box-office bonanza which will write box-office history. It will do outstanding business and will emerge as one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. In spite of lack of comedy, romance and hit music, it has tremendous repeat value. Let it be said loud and clear: Some films are destined to write box-office history, and Krrish 3 is one such film. It is: Avatar meets Superman meets Indian sentiments!

...is neither Amar Chitra Katha nor Marvel. The Indian superhero stays in an artless, old-fashioned limbo.

Krrish 3 is average product by Hollywood standards but innovative by Bollywood standards. Krrish 3 works because it has Hollywood body around Bollywood soul. It works because Rakesh Roshan runs the show with good control during most of the running time. It works because Hrithik Roshan is such a delight to watch when he is playing three different characters; Rohit Mehra of Koi Mil Gaya, Krishna Mehra born in Krrish and Krrish of course. As Krishna he is good, as Rohit he is excellent and as Krrish he is charismatic and irresistible. Krrish 3 goes two steps ahead of Krrish and gives Bollywood audience the drama of superheroes, super villains, mutants, scientists that they have not tasted this way before. Special effects vary from tacky to absolutely stunning. Vivek Oberoi as Kaal and Kangana Ranaut as Kaya give pretty balanced performances. Priyanaka Chopra is average and does not have much to do here. Plot is predictable but quite enjoyable. Movie falters by being over melodramatic sometimes, having two extra songs and dragging the climax by around 10 minutes. It is a bumpy ride but a thrilling one. Make no mistake, Krrish 3 deserves a watch.
Many Scenes Are Copied From Hollywood Movies..And The Story Is Average Too.VFX Is Quite Good.Songs Are Pathetic Especially God Allah One..Watchable If You Want To See This Indian Superhero Saving Lives Again
It's been about a month since I have checked out any films as nothing quite interesting had attracted my attention. But as always, festival season is the one that all movie lovers swoon for after all the much hyped films hit the screens during that time to rack in the moolah just as "Krrish 3" has graced this Diwali. The promos does look interesting though there are unmistakable shades of Hollywood. So is it just the promos or is it a total rip off??? Years have passed since Krrish (Hrithik Roshan) had saved his dad, Prof Rohit from the clutches of Dr. Arya (Naseeruddin Shah) & now both father & son were investing their powers for the betterment of mankind in their own ways. But far away, nestled in some snow clad mountains Kaal laboratories was nurturing evil in the form of mutants & viruses. Seeking to obtain a suitable bone marrow donor, to relive him off his paralytic condition; Kaal (Vivek Oberoi) was virtually twisting the rules of nature with his cross genetic experiments. After unleashing havoc in Namibia with his virus, he decides to do the same in India but Rohit & Krrish saves the day for the nation. This entices Kaal who entrusts his mutant, Kaya (Kangana Ranaut) to find out the secret behind the anti-dote. So will Krrish be able to stop Kaal & if so, at what cost??? After having enthralled the audience with the prequels which translated into blockbusters, Rakesh Roshan is back with the latest installment of Krrish. Now before going into the specifics, I do have to admit it's a rehash of various Hollywood flicks which came out in the last decade especially "X Men", "The Amazing Spiderman" & "Man of Steel" to name a few. Actually if you would take any of these films and add oodles of emotions, dance, and songs...you will get "Krrish 3". But even then there is no denying the fact that it manages to interest the audience at various sequences mainly due to Hrithik. Though the budget of the film is humongous, it is still less than 1% of what Hollywood films invest in..so in that aspect the VFX effects are pretty impressive. Hrithik is the heart & soul of the film, and he has done a fantastic job as Rohit & Krrish with each being as different as chalk & cheese. Actually if it wasnt for his persona & efforts, the average screenplay would have appeared downright pathetic. Kangana Ranaut has done a praise worthy job along with Vivek Oberoi, while Priyanka barely had anything to do. As for other aspects, Rakesh Roshan's music was abysmal to say the least while Salim Sulaiman's BGM was average at best with some being a rip off. Chandan Arora's editing was fine along with Tirru's visuals. Verdict: The film will have a fantastic initial beyond a doubt and should have the makers laughing to the bank inspite of the huge investment. So will it break any records??? well, I dont think so as it isnt a mass masala like "Chennai Express". In short, though the script is average & the special effects are definitely inspired; I feel you can give it a try!!! Rating: 3/5 Regards...Ben
Indian cinema witnesses films like KRRISH 3 once in a year. Since KRRISH was a cool entertainer and a superhit film, there were similar expectations around this sequel of KRRISH. The first look and promo were quite impressive, which added to the curiosity for the film. Still, I had a feeling that this film might not be a great one since its promo looked copied. After watching this film I realized that I wasn't wrong in thinking that Krrish 3 wouldn't be able to match up with Krrish, the first part. The excessive romantic scenes, pointless music and story don't leave anything much special for the audience, but technically, the film is good. Otherwise it is just an average attempt by the makers. The fights, VFX and Locations are good. Hrithik is once again back in form. He proves himself superior to other actors with his awesome performance. Priyanka and Kangana don't have much to do on screen. Even Vivek Oberoi looks exaggerated as the villain Kaal. The comedy of Rajpal Yadav doesn't have much scope for this time. The VFX has made Krrish look new and entertaining, as a superhero. Thanks to SRK whose VFX company has made it look like a master film, although it is not really like that. The emotional scenes are necessary for any film but the film didn't have them much. I would not really appreciate the makers for making such an average film with good action, VFX but a completely disconnected story and bad music. This doesn't anyhow mean that KRRISH 3 is a completely poor flick. The film is at best an average film (not even above average) which is watchable in parts. In the entire film, I liked only the climax action scene, and the interval scene. In other words, the film remains watchable only when it's first half and second half are about to come to an end! The film is although rated U, yet there are a few parts not suitable for kids. There is an overdose of blood and gore, there are a few kisses, and a few things I will not reveal. On the whole, Krrish 3 is a film that can be watched by all, but will be relished mostly by kids. An average film overall! Bottomline: Not an impressive film, but yet go in with low expectations, and the film will make you sit through.
ya like dis movie, but concepts gone wrong
'Krrish 3' directed by Rakesh Roshan is one of the most exhilerating, twisted superhero dramas of the year. While it isn't as deliciously entertaining as its western rivals, nor is it as subtle in its swag, but it is a very terrific superhero flick in Bollywood standards, despite no logic camerawork and weak execution. Krrish-3 starring Hrithik, along Kangana and Priyanka is probably the best Hindi superhero venture ever- with its frothy take on the life in Indian cities, its inspired meta love triangle theorem, and some so-bad-they-are-good performances especially delivered by... Vivek Oberoi, this fun-filled ride is worth a take because of its almost elevated storytelling and exciting backdrop.
