Zanjeer is a dull show which also looks dated. Except for action, that too, mainly for the mass audience, there is not much for the viewers. As such, the film’s run at the box-office will not be exciting. The Telugu version of the film has also been released simultaneously and its fate at the ticket windows may be better due to the stardom of Telugu films’ star, Ram Charan.

Satyagraha is an average fare but its business at the box-office will be below average due to the below-the-mark start and lack of universal support, especially lack of youth support. Although it is contemporary and entertaining in parts and also has an emotional under-current, its convenient screenplay and too idealistic characters would mar its box-office prospects by limiting its appeal. Business in big centres and multiplexes will be better than that in smaller centres and single-screen cinemas.

On the whole, Madras Cafe is a class-appealing film which will do well in the high-end multiplexes of big cities mainly. Its performance in the single-screen cinemas and ordinary multiplexes, frequented by masses, will be below the mark. Given its cost, the film will see those associated with it in the red.

On the whole, B.A. Pass is an interesting film with a lot of sex scenes to satiate the voyeuristic hunger of the audience. It should do well but its depressing end will limit its business.

On the whole, Luv U Soniyo is a half-hearted attempt which fails to strike a chord in people’s hearts. At the box-office, it will go completely unnoticed and its poor start will only add to its terrible tale of woes.

On the whole, Bajatey Raho is a dull fare devoid of entertainment value. It neither entertains with its comedy nor thrills with its action and drama. Flop.

On the whole, D-Day is an enjoyable fare and one which inspires a feeling of patriotism in the viewers. But it is more for the evolved audience. Its showcasing in the multiplexes is bad and, coupled with its poor start and unexciting title, this will mar the film’s box-office prospects and potential. Of course, collections will pick up due to positive word of mouth but the dull start is bound to play the proverbial villain, in the final tally. The film will win critical acclaim and will be a strong contender in many categories at the awards. Its business will be more in the cinemas frequented by class audiences and in the big cities.

On the whole, Ramaiya Vastavaiya is an entertainer all the way. The enjoyable drama, especially in the second half, and the emotional undercurrent make it a wonderful fare for the entire family and for all age groups. It will fetch handsome returns from ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ class centres, from multiplexes and single-screen cinemas. It is a film for the classes and masses alike. It can do hit business in several circuits.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag will have an eventful run at the cinemas and will turn out to be a richly rewarding film for all concerned. Its undue length will adversely affect collections to an extent and will, therefore, tell on the box-office results but it will still prove to be a very paying proposal. Business in the big cities and good multiplexes will be excellent.

On the whole, Lootera is a beautifully made, brilliantly shot and wonderfully enacted love story which will be loved by the classes and evolved audience only. It is a painting on celluloid which will win a lot of critical acclaim and awards. It will not find favour with the masses and single-screen cinema audience which may even reject the film, mainly because it is excruciatingly slow.
