I’m trying to figure out things in my mind, to make sense of what I have just seen…

If only director Jasbir Bhatti had dwelt on the subject rather than concentrating on silly school scenes and even sillier teachers, we would have had a hard-hitting film on our hands.

If you ask me, the performances are not a patch on the earlier movie; they are patchy, not fluid. Moreover, you lose the grip on the movie within the first 30 minutes after you realize that there is no plot to take it further. It’s just a push and shove scenario, hoping to get lucky.

Nevertheless, for dance freaks, this could prove to be a good outing.

At the heart of the plot is a good story, but in presenting it on celluloid Mohit Suri bungles. The plot is forgotten and all the flaws take the cake. There are instances which leave you wondering how a director can take an actor of Vidya Balan’s stature and make her do the things he did. I mean, there are some really silly situations and weak emotional moments which fall flat. Vidya tries real hard, but even she cannot resurrect the situation which is so poorly written.

If you want to watch Bombay in its pristine glory of the past, BOMBAY VELVET is a must watch. However, if content is what you are looking for, stay away!

It’s a Phantom let down!

…was meant to show the farcical side of politics. It turns out being a farce!

Shonali Bose packs too many emotions into this movie, some unwarranted, which takes away any emotions one might have had as the movie began. Also, she is obsessed with showing Laila (Kalki Koechlin) who is suffering from Cerebral Palsy as this sex maniac!

If you are an Emraan Hashmi fan, then this is for you. If not, go to COURT!

The film is shot on a grand scale but the connecting links to the past 300 years are not that convincing. The story could have been better entwined leaving the viewer in a state of suspense. Unfortunately, Bobby Khan treats the two issues differently and hence loses out on capitalizing on the tantalizing twist in the end.

If only the audience were given a role to play a part in solving the crime, methinks this would have been mind-blowing.

All the same, if you are looking for something different, DBB is something that you can venture out to see.
