Both Zarine and Daisy were supposed to make the film a sleaze-fest, but their acting only contributed in making Hate Story a snooze-fest. However, Zarine takes the cake as the most wooden performer of the film despite the fact that it is she who will draw crowd to theatres.

Despite its lows, Salman shines as Prem; it is his character that makes the film fairly watchable. For Sonam Kapoor, she has been decorated well and is an unmissable part of set design. More than Sonam, it's Salman's chemistry with Anupam Kher that is one of the high points of the film.

Nikhil Advani has mostly stuck to the original story with some unimaginative changes that only misfire. Expecting a strong plot and powerful performances in a masala film was asking for too much but Hero fails to deliver even on basic levels. It challenges the viewer's intelligence with its incoherent script, poor direction and below par performances.

The film makes a poignant point without getting preachy that even if you have absolute devotion towards your faith there is enough space for mutual co-existence. With India and Pakistan's tumultuous relation hitting a low with firing exchanges from both sides of border, Bajrangi Bhaijaan's message of love and peace becomes more pertinent.
