With a cast boasting of pro names of showbiz like Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Raaz, Arshad, Huma and last but not the least, Madhuri, `Dedh Ishqiya` is a dark gem for the connoisseurs of this genre. Madhuri exudes a charming aura on-screen, and Huma rules every frame she appears on. The chemistry between Madhuri and Naseer saab looks a tad forced perhaps because of their wide age gap, but we will go for the madcap tricks cooked up by the duo Babban and Khalu.

It is a film that is completely performance driven. I would like to throw a word of praise for the casting director here. Debutante Sanjeev Jaiswal, as one of the two key members of the cast, has worked extremely well to portray Ajmal Kasab`s character onscreen. For Nana, this film substantiates the fact that he can pull off thoughtful, powerful and serious roles like a pro.

The foot tapping songs such as "Mukhtasar", "Uff" and "Humse Pyaar Karle Tu" are well-written, melodiously sung and deftly choreographed. All in all, 'Teri Meri kahaani' is not Kunal Kohli's best work but still is a light watch sans any vulgarity.

The movie is a (nonsensical) 'fairy tale 'of a middle-class Maharashtrian girl called Meenakshi (Rani Mukerji) who yearned to be an actress but eventually settled down with a job in an art college.Meenakshi is melodramatic and a dreamer who escapes into her fantasy land anytime and anywhere. While Meenakshi is a dreamer, the girl's family is no less and somewhat remind you of characters of 'The Addams Family'.In straight words, 'Aiyya' is not a script badly handled rather it is a script wrongly written. We can only hope that Sachin Kundalkar doesn't repeat his mistake and make his audience go 'Aiyyaa' in pain again.
