Most Divergent Takes

Veeran

Veeran

2023 · Ottplay

The movie comes across as a rollicking entertainer which ticks all boxes when you watch a few scenes, but falls flat and predictable in some sequences. Veeran is an enjoyable ride for all sections of audience if you overlook a few glitches.

Dada

Dada

2023 · Ottplay

The sequences and conflicts in the film aren't completely new, but the manner in which they are entertainingly presented with the right mix of emotions deserves praise. Dada's target seems to be young audience, but the right packaging of emotions and instantly likeable characters are adequate enough to attract all sections of audience.

Chithha

Chithha

Chithha is one of the must-watch films of the year, thanks to the terrific performances from lead actors, intriguing screenplay and the originality with which a sensitive subject is handled. Director SU Arun Kumar manages to keep the audience on the edge of their seats and make them empathize with the lead characters convincingly till the end, offering a satisfying experience to viewers.

Por Thozhil

Por Thozhil

2023 · Ottplay · Jun 2023

The film has a tightly-woven screenplay that aids in offering edge-of-the-seat moments, but the manner in which the investigation unfolds doesn't boast of novelty. Por Thozhil is a taut thriller if you can overlook a few glitches.

Pichaikkaran 2

The film doesn't offer any innovative story or performances, but its packaging works to a decent extent which makes it a one-time watchable fare.

Thunivu

Thunivu

2023 · Ottplay · Jan 2023

Ajith's terrific screen presence saves this action drama which entertains despite minor flaws. Watch it for the star's majestic appearance and a few action episodes. A few cliché scenes and lack of fleshed out ambitious ideas make this a one-time watch.

Kabali

Kabali

2016 · Times Of India · Jul 2016

The story, perhaps, needed a tighter screenplay, but watch it for 'Thalaivar athiradi'. Nothing more, nothing less!

Kochadaiiyaan

Kochadaiiyaan

2014 · Deccan Chronicle · May 2014

Unsurprisingly, the brand name 'Rajini' has proved for the umpteenth time that his face value alone could carry a movie on his shoulders. 'Kochadaiiyaan' has embraced technology in the best possible way, not to forget this being the very first attempt. Looks like director Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin has the last laugh after all!
