Chand Mera Dil

If Chand Mera Dil had stuck to one thing, it could still have made something of it, given at least the rarity of the story in Bollywood. However, the Dharma Production is too squeamish about getting the hands of its lead pair dirty – from diapers to dishes to that big 'd' word, divorce. So just when they are hovering on the brink, Chand Mera Dil pulls back to bung in a soulful song that is as soulless as that next Insta picture.

On the whole, CHAND MERA DIL is a fine romantic saga that works due to its subject, stylish execution, performances and, more importantly, because it is relatable and highlights the challenges faced by young couples today.

Chand Mera Dil is actually a reminder that relationships aren't built on love alone. Love fuels passion and dedication, but the true test of any relationship is perseverance and discipline. All said and done, Chand Mera Dil, is not a perfect film. But then, even Rumi and Pablo Neruda will agree that perfection is not really a virtue relevant to love.

The film is a laboured take on romance that is confused about where it is going and what it wants to say. It only rambles in its pursuit of romance between the two young adults who seem more confused than passionate about each other, flickering like an LED bulb in an artificial sky instead of a real chand.
