• Like his characters, who live their lives with no realization of how the real world functions, Malhotra shows no wisdom or depth in “Gori Tere Pyaar Mein”. Avoid at all costs.

Films like GTPM are best enjoyed without the expectation of cinematic excellence. Nine out of ten developments in the narrative bypass logic. There are songs nineteen to the dozen. Great actors like Anupam Kher feature in run-of-the-mill funny bad guy roles. You might even be cheeky and say this movie is a frivolous little romance with the idea of filmmaking. But the bottom line is that it works. And you don’t need reasons to smile.

  • Do not to waste your money on this movie. You are better off donating that amount for a noble cause. At least, it’d be more meaningful than Kareena’s frivolous social efforts.

  • Repetitive and boring, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein manages the feat of making the audience completely lose interest in the couple at the heart of the film. The thoroughly forgettable songs don’t help the film’s cause. Before interval, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is about falling out of love. After the interval, it’s about breathing in a bit of Gujarat and building a bridge. There are few moments of laughter and no love.

…has an interesting first half but the post-interval portion, to a large extent, mars the impact because it does not go well with the first part. It has hardly anything for the single-screen cinema audience because the humour is more class-appealing. At the box-office, it will not be able to do much. If it still manages to sail safe, it will be because of recoveries from sale of satellite and audio rights. Its performance Overseas will be quite alright.
