• On the surface the film feels like a relatively lightweight entry in Scott’s canon of masterpieces given that its overarching theme – the corrupting influence of enormous wealth – is not exactly new. But the veteran filmmaker gives it the pace and the rhythm of an action thriller.

Ridley Scott is a little distant in the way he observes his characters and their dilemmas. The young boy is in mortal danger all through, but your heart is not as much in your mouth as it should be.

‘All The Money In The World’ is a letdown by Ridley Scott. It is, at best, an okay watch.

…an uneven pacing and tonality, which doesn’t take away from the fact that this is an engrossing series of events, but it might be a detrimental factor to those expecting a taut thriller. The main reason to watch ‘All the Money in the World’ is the last-minute character revamp by Christopher Plummer that makes this film worthwhile.

  • To be able to recreate the atmosphere, energy and continuity so impeccably is an achievement in itself. Everyone was waiting for this film with their knives out, Scott deserves special credit for delivering a film that just works against all odds.

Overall, the film is an ingeniously crafted, tension filled, kidnapping drama that won’t disappoint you.
