Phillauri is a perfect watch this weekend which makes you laugh and cry, also redefining romance on celluloid. The film has a great blend of emotions and believability at the right place, though the pace of the film is slightly slow in the first half which might bore the audience.

It seems as though Phillauri could have gone in a lot of directions, but it took the road usually travelled.

  • Phillauri is a fun watch thanks to its light-hearted story. Shashi’s friendly ghost will win your hearts.

Phillauri is truly a fun film. For romance enthusiasts, this movies got everything. For the casual movie goer, it’s got the right amount of humour. But for the auteur of love, this film and it’s poetic old world charm can weave a spell of magic.

Phillauri is a well made film from debutant director Anshai Lal and is worth a watch.

Phillauri is an entertaining watch – though it would probably help if you’re along for Kanan’s “trip” of choice.

  • The underwritten love stories never realize their full potential and Phillauri treads down the familiar half-baked Bollywood path. What, however, stays consistently arresting is the film’s music which is every bit worth cherishing. With some better writing and some tight editing, the makers could’ve whipped up a Chamatkar. This isn’t half as novel, earnest or memorable. If idle, take that trip to the nearby multiplex, but make it about the caramel popcorn more than the ghost bride. She doesn’t have the menace, charm or intention to haunt you.

  • A never-seen-before love story, ‘Phillauri’ offers the viewers a quintessential rom-com. So this weekend, grab your popcorns and re-live your love story with Shashi!
